And considering its low concentration (we are talking about only HUNDREDS of parts per million, virtually starvation levels for green growing plants). Carbon dioxide is PLANT FOOD, as vital in every way as minerals, various nitrogen and sulfur compounds, and water itself.
A lot of fake science is based on attribution of some mythical anthropogenic global climate change to the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. There is no known mechanism by which the presence or absence of CO2 may affect atmospheric temperatures one whit. Water vapor is both much more abundant, and able to affect the transfer of heat energy in the water and air to a vastly greater degree.

The first ice age was caused by the replacement of methane with CO2 and water vapor. CO2 has been declining for a very long time, and as you said is only a trace gas.
