After the disgusting political assassination of General Michael Flynn, President Trump had to find a leader who would be ready for anything.

Enter retired Vice Adm. Robert Harward.

Harward is currently a defense contractor executive, a retired United States Navy SEAL and a former Deputy Commander of the United States Central Command, under the leadership command of General James Mattis.

Might sound good but way too much power consolidated under 1 man
Intelligence is rarely a unanimous product and opposing views offer checks and balance

Drain the swamp...fire all federal employees and force them to re-apply for their positions against other candidates.

Has Harward even agreed to take the assignment yet?

Agree. How can they have a valid complaint if their pay isn’t impacted?

But some changes to the critical elements of their job descriptions can lay the groundwork for legitimate firing?

Amen! That is EXACTLY what needed to happen!

Apologies, but, to illustrate, I’m going to plagiarize myself here. I posted the following in response to a post that characterized Mike Flynn as a “comparatively small fish”:

“You may consider Mike Flynn a comparatively small fish, but Flynn’s opponents do not. Flynn posed a clear and immediate threat to the Intelligence Community and most of its 17 member agencies and departments. He saw, firsthand, the manner in which intelligence was cooked to fit a political narrative or delayed due to political and interagency considerations and that it cost American and coalition lives.

Flynn’s appointment as National Security Advisor was way outside the norm. Virtually every previous National Security Advisor, going back at least to the Reagan administration, had served on the NSC Staff at least once and most were Ivy Leaguers or graduates of Harvard’s Kennedy School (Rice was from Stanford) - and that includes the general officers, like Powell, Jones, etc.

[By comparison] Mike Flynn is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and never served on the NSC staff. According to his official biography, “Flynn’s military career was PRIMARILY OPERATIONAL, with numerous combat arms, conventional and special operations senior intelligence assignments.” In other words, Flynn’s perspective was based on reality, not theory. He has authored numerous articles that were critical of the Obama administration’s policies and highly critical of the Intelligence Community, which were among the reasons he was removed from his position as Director of DIA early - by order of the Obama administration.”

Does the housecleaning include Flynn’s deputy, KT McFarland?

So Harward is making a seriously smart move, he is doing a FULL housecleaning of Trump’s National Security Council’s staff. Harward is bringing in HIS OWN team and not trusting anyone else with sensitive material.

Brilliant except I don't believe that's where the problem lies. The problem is with the so-called 'deep state'. The problem is with the intelligence agencies and the FBI and Justice Department. Draining that swamp is going to be very, very difficult. But if ever we had a President who is even remotely up to the task it's the man we elected in November.

A perfect solution. Absolutely necessary...and hopefully sets a pattern.

Now deal with Obama’s order allowing sharing between intelligence agencies and start getting your people in charge at all of them.

Do you expect IC professionals to be that brazen in leaving a government paper trail of the felonies they are committing against a sitting president?

Stupid to announce this now. Wait until he’s in the job, and do it with zero notice. Have security grab all current staff, even if they’re sitting on the john, and walk them to their cars.

Trump isn’t a big fan of projecting strategic moves ahead of time. I’m with him on that.

I think EXECUTING a couple of the perps for treason wouldn’t hurt, either.

Deputy national security adviser K.T. McFarland says she will remain in her current post at the request of President Trump, despite Michael Flynn’s resignation Monday night.

The New York Times reported Tuesday morning that McFarland was expected to leave her role amid the fallout from the former national security adviser’s resignation.

But McFarland told The Hill in a Tuesday afternoon statement that she’ll remain a part of the administration.

“I just met with the president and he asked that I stay on. I’m thrilled to do so,” she said.
