ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia In Barack Obamas landmark speech before the African Union in July 2015 the first by a sitting U.S. president he told the assembled heads of state and delegates that the United States was ready to be a development partner with the continent, while warning that would come along with American promotion of human rights, whether they liked it or not.
You are kind of stuck with us this is how we are. We believe in these things and were going to keep talking about them, he said to applause and laughter from the delegates.
Now a year and a half later, the African Union is grappling with a new U.S. president that has said very little about Africa but looks set to step away from decades of bipartisan investment in Africa and has advocated using torture during interrogations.
At the African Unions annual summit meeting in Addis Ababa, that concluded Tuesday, Africas leaders heatedly debated a number of issues, including who to elect as chairman, Moroccos return to the group, and whether to walk out from the International Criminal Court. But beyond the official agenda was a sense of unease over what many see as a new era of nationalism ushered in by the election of President Trump....

Africa: Ignore Trump, Fight Sharks That Have Spoilt the Place Called Home
http://allafrica.com/stories/201701310085.html
The ANC, in RSA, have ALWAYS been stinking COMMIES!
Let’s make a deal: Remove 8 million of the poorest Haitians and disperse them to French speaking nations in Africa. Pay them for 10 years. $200/year would be the market. Give the entire island to the Dominican Republic with the U.S. as a protectorate. Penal colony. Empty the jails. Heck, W gave them 15 billion to fight Aids.
For our purposes, they believe in Jesus Nd don’t believe in Muhammed and the KKKoran. Christian enough for me
“Barack Hussein Obama, who never saw a foreign country whose interests he did not put ahead of his own country’s(except for the European ones)”
There. Added that necessary biographical note.
Seriously - can you imagine (given his family background, and his political ideology and record) what a muddled F*d up mess Obama’s psyche is?
In Zero's world, "partner" means "we'll throw you and your political friends all kinds of free money to enrich yourselves and won't care as long as you do a few token things that I can take credit for come election day."
SPIEGEL Interview with African Economics Expert, July 4, 2005
The Kenyan economics expert James Shikwati, 35, says that aid to Africa does more harm than good. The avid proponent of globalization spoke with SPIEGEL about the disastrous effects of Western development policy in Africa, corrupt rulers, and the tendency to overstate the AIDS problem.
Mugabe also. Carter’s favorite in that part of the world.
Of course, you would be correct on that statement. When there to deliver that speech, wasn’t he told to stay quiet about the homo part when speaking re human rights? Or was that particular warning given to the Dark Won at another time, another pompous visit?
I once believed that they were REAL Christians too, until I was disabused of that notion by people who knew better.
Just WHERE do you imagine that Voodoo and other such craziness comes from? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....? It didn't begin in Haiti!
Giving Christian Saints' attributes to PAGAN gods, isn't being "Christian"! And then, their is the tribalism, which they never have outgrown, as well as being COMMIES!
The people living in these nations have no property rights whatsoever. So any tin pot asshat with a bunch of armed thugs can take anything including the land they live on. If the populace has no protection of property rights they have no mofivation to put in any work above the level needed to survive. It makes no sense to build up a farm or business or even a nice place to live when it can be taken from you for any reason and you have enough legal recourse.
Agreed. I think they have an abundance of some natural resources in some areas. But dictatorships and tribal rivalries have kept them poor. or maybe i’m completely wrong :)
And the stupids, in the Western world's fav.... Bishop Desmond Tutu, who is a JOKE, in RSA, who is laughed at and ignored, and has less than NO say-so in ANYTHING at all there and NEVER has had any!
Another “liberation theology” grievous wolf, he is.
But even the black South Africans don't like him.
to sum it up:
African nationalism good
American nationalism bad
On no!!!! Whatever will we do without Djibouti and Eritrea?
No property rights? Don’t you think that’s Mr. Trump’s department? I say deal with the Governments. Say a big time bonus at the end of the 10 years provided they don’t confiscate. Give the newcomers an ak-47 to defend themselves afterwards.
This is horse hockey. Obama did damn little for Africa other than lecture them and bomb them (see: Libya).
George W Bush, an imperfect President, did MORE for Africa in a humanitarian sense than Hussein OR the Impeached Bent One (Clinton) did COMBINED.
This Washington Post fake journalist can shove it.
That’s like me contemplating a future without my wife’s 401k lol
