Lol!
The interview process can be a minefield. Sometimes due to the incompetence of the person doing the interview.
In the automotive buisness over the last 15 years it seems to be left to attractive 20 year olds that don’t know the difference between a Quarter Panel, and a Fender! Can be very frustrating.
On my last interview, things were going swimmingly when a comment was made they were "concerned" about my lack of experience in a different area of accounting. One can only cram a portion of 25 years of experience into two pages.
In 45 seconds, I turned that around to "oh, we're sorry, you may have too much experience for this position.
This was back in 2009. Fortunately, the FDIC was ramping up, and I got a term position with them. In 10 months, I went from a GS-7 to a GS-13. Unfortunately, it was a term position, as I said, though I nearly got five years out of it.
“that dont know the difference between a Quarter Panel, and a Fender!”
You reminded me of something. When my two boys were 3 or 4 I worked with them so they could point at a picture of a car and identify a wheel versus a tire. Now neither are into cars.
