Cuomo is an evil, disgusting, vile, shameless, ugly human being. He is posturing himself to run against Trump. He entered into a deal to close a nuclear power plant 25 miles north of NYC which provides about 25% of the electricity that NYC and the lower Hudson valley uses while bailing out five nuclear power plants in upstate NY. He just commuted the sentence of a convicted Weather Underground skell who was involved in the murder of two police officers and a security guard years ago. He wants to give free state university tuition (which currently costs $7,000 a year) to students whose families earn under $125,000 a year and he announced this with Bernie Sanders at his side. This move will cost taxpayers about $7 billion a year. Yet he just vetoed a bill that would have the state pay the cost of indigent defense (something that the Constitution mandates that is provided) and alleviate county budgets which currently absorb the cost. Counties are hemorrhaging in this state from the endless federal and state mandates that get pushed down to the local level like Medicaid.
These jackasses have had at least 8 years to prove how wonderful they are.

Sadly, the rest of New York state would not do well without NYC. There is no industry in upstate NY except for prisons and colleges. No more manufacturing jobs. Farming used to be a huge industry, but small farms have been crippled by regulations and taxes. If you are not a huge farm that owns your own elected officials like the owner of Chobani Yogurt, you just cannot make a decent living.

Because there is no employment. Because due to Pete Seeger’s 50 year destruction of the industries along the Hudson River, we have no employment on either side of the river - but it’s a great place to sail your 100,000 dollar boat, Pete (hope you’re rotting in hell). Regulations have destroyed our wonderful farms and upstate - so beautiful - is completely forgotten because no one votes Democrat. Our SUNY system, once the jewel in the crown of NYS, has been destroyed through affirmative action, open admissions and the endless attack on western civilization. SUNY once had Harold Bloom and Camille Paglia teaching in its system! Now, if its lucky, it has a Cornell West wannabee.
Luckily for Cuomo, NYC remains a highlight of this state. We can all laugh at its politics and its idiotic citizens but it remains a citadel of the arts and finance. How sad that they now turn their backs on their home-grown president. But, then, after all, they backed the Confederates during the Civil War.
