Before this year's American election, Tina Woodland had never protested anything in her life. But when she heard that thousands of women were planning to march on the U.S. capital the day after Donald Trump's inauguration, the Yukon resident knew she had to join in.
Woodland, who owns a Ford dealership in Whitehorse with her best friend, spent her entire vacation budget for 2017 so that she could take part in the Women's March on Washington — an event she believes will be "a turning point in North America.''
Organizers say the event is meant to promote women's rights rather than oppose Trump, but for Woodland and others taking part, the president-elect — who has come under fire for his comments about women — is at the heart of the issue.
Woodland's family lived through the Second World War before immigrating to Canada, and the mother of two said she has seen similar extremist views emerge and take hold during the presidential campaign....

Love Canadians lecturing us. Just the other day one I know was expressing how racist Americans for Trump were.
I helpfully let him know Canada has less than 1% African descent and less than 1% Hispanic. In the USA 64% of us are identifiable as non Hispanic white. In Canada it’s 88%.
Also Canada has a vigorous immigration process.
And these morons lecture us.
Where ARE those women now? Is Gloria Allread going to bring suit against The Donald, or will someone bring an ethics grievance against her at the CA bar? She does this over and over again .. big, loud announcement, using some poor tearful bimbo, then no one hears from the woman again, and Gloria moves on. She has to be taken down professionally. She’s a fraud, not a lawyer.
All of the low information women who protest will be providing evidence that giving women the right to vote was a big mistake!
Because some leftist women have decided that Trump is something he is not, they are embarking on a pointless and foolish exercise. The protest will show how many intolerant and senseless women are in the Democrat Party, and why the Democrats have lost more than 1,000 political offices to Republicans over the past eight years. I hope they never learn!
When is this so-called march? Will it interfere with the March for Life that is always held the Monday after the Inauguration?
Ten times as many people will be at the March for Life around the same time, and that won’t even register a blip.
It probably wouldn’t take a complete day to give away all of the cars she has in stock. No qualifying, no money down, no credit, no haggling, no contracts to sign. They just give them the title and keys and away they go. 8>)
If not for her chest, she’d almost pass for J.F. Kerry. Long face, high forehead. Another difference is her nose is not held high enough, though her chest is large enough to hold all Kerry’s Medals received and predominately displayed.
US is not alone when one searches for loonie tunes and straw men.
