New stop-Trump plan: During a 90-second window on Jan. 3, Al Gore steals the House gavel; then . .

It's not over!

I want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt that he’s kidding. I think he’s kidding, although he put an awful lot of thought into it for a guy who’s just punking everyone.

Then again, do you doubt for a second that there are liberals will to embrace a plan like this without any sense of irony? Of course you don’t. To them, a Trump presidency is the end of days, and no blocking strategy - no matter how bizarre or implausible - is beyond consideration.

You know the history of that safety pin the idiots are wearing to virtue single these days, right?

I’m not saying this Canada Free Press guy pulled that masterful troll (it was either 8chan or 4chan pol meme warriors, can’t recall exactly) but it does demonstrate that there is hella lota playground for trolling the idiot left.

Wouldnt be legal.

You cannot pre-emptively (legally) declare laws you have not yet passed, to be invalid.

Further Al Gore has no standing to be charge of Congress. Gavel or no gavel. He has no standing to be in charge of a Hobby Lobby or a Burp ‘N Go.

This is Democrat Socialist fantasy porn.

“To them, a Trump presidency is the end of days..”

For them, the Trump Presidency IS the end of days. It is the end of what they've been working toward and confident of for decades. They wanted to ‘knock everyone else’ down ‘a peg or two’, and in so doing elevating themselves. Now they are facing a loss of their own status, and power. The entertainment industry will have to settle for just being entertainers. Journalists will have to be journalists, and report the news, not try to insert themselves into it. Academics will no longer be given credibility as the ‘wisdom on top of the mountain’, and will no longer be the ones from whose ranks most political appointees are chosen.

I know that's a lot to say about just winning the Presidency this time around, but there has been a shift in the way people think about the left, and it's not in the left’s favor.

I've kept my mouth shut for quite awhile now, but let's get real for a minute. You can go to the point where the 2nd Amendment kicks in. If someone thinks they can run in and get the gavel and declare some drivel as true, I have no doubt that gun play would soon ensue. These rockheads are delusional but that doesn't protect them from lead poisoning.

I can just see the keeper of the rules come out shaking his head saying, "You know, these guys just found a rule that no one can change, so it looks like Trump is not POTUS now." All of us would look at one another and say, "Guys, it looks like they got us with rule 7 article 5. I hope Democrats are looking and listening to what their party is saying right now. You have to be almost a 10 yo to follow their thinking.

Just for those that don't keep up with these things, all we need is the Speaker of the House to push AlGore off the lectern and holler "King's X!" and that would negate rule 7 and Trump would still be POTUS.

I'm rubber, you are glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.

i think s/he meant Joe Biden and not AlGore since Biden presides over the Senate. This is probably a recycled wet dream from 2000.

Actually the way I had seen it was Joe Biden presiding over the senate as VP would have the gavel after the old senate expires, but before the new senators are sworn in, leaving a 34-33 Dem Senate majority. It’s ridiculous because there is no quorom, and the new Senators become Senators as soon as the old Senate expires.

WHAT? Is this Liberal idiot talking about Al Gore taking over the Board of Directors of Apple? That’s about the only place this Liberal wet dream could take place involving Al Gore! Al Gore is no longer Vice-president. . . he’s just a member of a few corporate boards.

What’s to keep them from using this short time period where they have a 34-33 advantage from confirming a new Supreme Court Justice?

The flaw in this otherwise brilliant plan is that Al Gore lives on the West Coast and he isn’t allowed to fly or drive to the East Coast.

It is a matter of conviction. Al is deeply concerned about his carbon footprint. This is more important to him then what is happening in Washington DC. Al Gore is determined to lead by example. He would never want to set a bad precedent for future generations who will have to live in a post-fossil fuel world.

;-)

The whole democrat ideology is based on cheating, finding loopholes, weasel clauses to defeat or pass legislation, win elections etc. They worship the use of bullcrap like legal precedents to win court cases. They will never stop, I would not be surprised if they tried this!

They know their party is almost dead. We just need to keep raining down death blows on the party until it has been eviscerated from humanity. We cannot rest, we need to go into overdrive NOW! We will never have another chance!

You said it best Laz... gonna add a fifth way?

Freeper Lazamataz:

Hillary Clinton has managed to lose the 2016 Presidential Election FOUR times.

Once, on the night of the election.

Twice, in the attempt to recount her way to victory (via her proxy, Jill Stein).

Third, in the effort to create faithless Trump Electors.

And now a fourth way she has discovered to lose the election: SHE GOT MORE FAITHLESS ELECTORS THAN TRUMP by a two-to-one ratio!

They would have quorum (67 members present), however, Garland has not passed thru Committee, ergo his nomination could not be brought to the floor, and SC Justices still require 60% approval, and 34-33 does not pass muster on that. You also forget, some of the members won re-election, therefore they would still be sitting members. Do you honestly think (not you sharkhawk, but others) that a member of the Senate that won reelection would sit idly by when they try to pull this BS? Taking Garland up before swearing in the new members would be the most nuclear of all options. Talk about p*ssing off the new Senate!

All it takes to remove the quorum is for 16 Republican to walk off the floor. One of the remaining Senators requests an recorded quorum call, and it’s over. It’s just a silly DUmmie fantasy anyway.
