THE DEPTH OF CALIFORNIA DEMS’ TRUMP PANIC

What Are California Democrats So Afraid Of?

Calling for enforcement of the nation’s immigration laws struck a nerve with certain California politicians.

In response to my column, “Mayors of Sanctuary Cities Who Flaunt Federal Law Should Be Arrested,” the former press secretary for recently termed-out California Senate President Darrell Steinberg, sent an email to the publisher of the Flash Report website, expressing his disdain that I called for upholding federal immigration law, and arresting those Mayors who flaunt their Sanctuary Cities in the face of the law:

The rub is they don’t even have to pretend to be citizens. They vote legally in California, for issues and candidates in the state. And they vote in national elections because they cannot be caught doing it. Secret ballot and all that.

No Federal funding for Brown’s High Speed Rail boondoggle spending $100B on a project destined for failure and heavy ongoing subsidies, and also no federal funding for those two 40 ft diameter tubes which will siphon Sacramento River water just south of Sacramento — which ultimate will allow more immigrants from the southern border to populate SoCal, and export more almonds to China ... all the while destroying the Sacramento Delta estuary forever.

Not only is there no constitutional authority for a state to secede but such an authority would undermine the whole idea of the constitution - to create a more perfect union.

California farmers grow 25% of America’s vegetables, even though Sacramento is trying to take away their water.

Let them secede. Then cut off the water to SoCal.

Water rights are very complicated in California. A lot of water is diverted to SoCal. But the feds can immediately affect San Francisco if they wish.

San Francisco runs Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Yosemite National Park. Environmentalists have long wished to restore the valley where Hetch Hetchy is to a natural state. It supplies all the drinking water to San Francisco and to some neighboring cities. And it also supplies much electricity derived from the hydro generation at the Hetch Hetchy dam.

All the White House has to do, is to take control back from San Francisco over Hetch Hetchy because it is in a National Park. A simple executive order would do it. San Francisco would bend over backwards to get their water and electricity, even giving up sanctuary city status. And because much water is diverted to SoCal, turning off the tap to SF would end diversion of water to SoCal, a two-fer-one deal.

Vegetables are fine, but most will go to watering the desert-like areas to increase almond production for export. Doesn’t make sense to destroy the delta, simply for mega-grower profits on exports.

Addendum on my last reply. The White House and Congress can easily force San Francisco’s hand by using Hetch Hetchy as leverage. San Francisco only pays $30,000 for leasing the land in Yosemite National Park. That can be greatly increased to apply pressure. And San Francisco violated the Raker Act which created Hetch Hetchy, by selling off power generation to PG&E. So the act can be negated by Congress under the direction of the President.

California produces 82% of the world’s almonds. No reason to dump billions of gallons of fresh water into the ocean to save a few minnows.

Desal could solve all of California’s water problems with ease, but Jerry brown wants to spend the money on a train to nowhere that no one wants.

Once upon a time it was 80%

Perhaps what frightens California Democrats most is that under Trump they have no possibility of a federal bailout when their state goes bankrupt as they know it will under their policies. Whole industries will soon be fleeing to escape draconian regulations and ever increasing taxes and the state will continue to be filled with illegal immigrants who live off the welfare system. Total economic collapse in California is inevitable.

Well, that's fine...I don't eat vegetables anyway. But seriously: veggies can also be grown in Florida,Georgia,Texas,Louisiana...

We shouldn’t give up one square inch of American soil to the commies.

It's not California being expelled...it's the commies wanting to secede.I say let them.If I was Lincoln I would have let the South go.

When I stated that California “can” secede from the
Union I did not mean it in the LEGAL SENSE. All sorts
of posts on this thread amount to somewhat wishful
thinking and mine was no different.

“It’s not California being expelled...it’s the commies wanting to secede.I say let them.”

Bunch of puffery and hot air.

Better men than you, are buried in the soil of California. Men who gave their lives defending this country and their beloved state.

And here you sit, dishonoring their sacrifice, spouting mouthfuls of bullshit, and cavalierly abandoning that precious ground to deranged communists.

Knock it off.

You won't talk to me because you've spouted a load of shameful horseshit, and you know it.

It's all too easy to sit in the comfort of your home, typing on an internet forum about abandoning U.S. territory to a bunch of mindless, degraded communists.

Territory that better Americans than you, fought and died to defend. You dishonor their memory and sacrifice with such cavalier talk. It's despicable, and unbecoming of a Freeper.

I’m not sure which of my statements you consider “puffery and hot air.”

In my view, California feeds the country, and her farmers should have the water they need in order to continue doing that - instead of Sacramento dumping billions of gallons into the bay.

Karnage, I was addressing the poster you and I were both arguing with. I pinged you to my reply to him.

You’ve been making great points.
