Why couldn't this cop have instead aimed his handgun from some distance away - taking into account the extremely high accuracy of the average handgun with its 4-inch long barrel when in the hands of a Hollywood actor - at whichever of the perp's hands/wrists was holding the weapon, to knock it out of his hand and save the perp's life, confident he wouldn't miss and hit one of the 100's of bystanders in the background?
