Recalled Newsweek ‘Madam President’ Clinton Issue Hits eBay

Hillary Clinton supporters can still live a part of their dream if they so choose. Once they decide to stop protesting, they can hop online and order a commemorative edition of Newsweek that was going to be released if the former secretary of state won the presidential election.

Pictures of the recalled issue feature a photo of Clinton with the title “Madam President.” The issue was leaked before the November 8th election which led for some to decry it as evidence of a rigged system. Newsweek quickly explained itself, stating that the issue was published under a Newsweek license by Topix Media. Newsweek posted on Twitter that a “President Trump” issue was also designed.

The “Madam President” edition was quickly recalled following Trump’s win, but copies of it are for sale on eBay and at least one is fetching bids of $200.

Newsweek editor-in-chief Jim Impoco said he was surprised by the cover when he saw it on social media. During an interview on the Media Masters podcast released Thursday, Impoco described the cover as a “routine” action of the publishing industry in the event that a result could go one of multiple ways.

“Yet in this toxic brew of electoral politics in America, it became a thing, it went viral,” Impoco said.

“I actually preferred the ‘it’s rigged’ argument to the ‘boy are they dumb’ argument,” he said.

According to Topix Media, only 17 of the 125,000 “Madam President” issues were sold before they were recalled.

A video can be seen at the source. I personally doubt these magazines will go for much. But one day we might look back at one in a frame and remember how we almost lost our country to a globalist, communist. It does make sense that a magazine or a newspaper would make two covers - one for each possible result. Sort of like championship games in football/sports.

There’s way more than 17 available on Ebay. A fool and his money.

“$380 with 54 bids, 3 hrs remaining.”

That’s probably Hillary selling those.

I bet she snagged the entire publication run, and now, with the CF donations drying up...she’s looking for $$$ wherever she can find them.

If you buy one, leave bad Feedback.

I haven’t seen the early “Mr. President” Trump issue.

Unless it existed, their two cover “story” is a lie.

Newsweak finally has an opportunity to make some money. They should print a million or so of those in time for Christmas - I would buy several to gift to my lefty friends.

But they (Newsweak) are too stupid to see the opportunity.

I went to ebay to find a price to post here. Would never buy anything with Hill’s photo on the cover. Or any of the Obamas.

'Madam President' Newsweek Copies for Sale Online — But Buyer Beware

NBC News found 387 offers for the recalled issue Wednesday evening just on eBay. Many of them offered multiple copies for sale.

And that's a problem — because the edition's publisher says only 17 copies were actually sold before all the rest were recalled, calling into question the authenticity of many of those offers.
