He’s right, of course, since a lot of the fight is in the states.

However, we get at least a four year respite at the Federal level.

I’ll take it.

Hillary Clinton and Martin O'Malley stood on that stage and told the country how proud they were to have made themselves enemies of the 5 million members of the National Rifle Association and Democrats across the country enthusiastically supported that fight. Well, take a good look Democrats. How'd that work out for you?

I think once the full scope of this defeat is realized, there will only be a handful of politicians that will be willing to pick a fight with the National Rifle Association and that fear will last for a long time.

You were warned repeatedly Democrats but you didn't listen and now you're going to pay for that mistake.

Build in so much legislation NOW to preclude all future attempts at local levels.

National reciprocity or constitution carry to all 50 states and territories regardless of local BS laws on capacity of firearms and types. I can drive safely across this country without being ambushed by cops in California, Illinois, Colorado, New York, Massachusetts etcetera .....for carrying a firearm.

Return the “Fairness Doctrine” to force the propaganda based MSM to give pro and con on every issue with such as firearms , illegal, candidates, immigration, race, sex, religion and terrorism....

Go for the throat versus “we’re ok for 4 years.

We have house / senate and potus for sure now till mid terms in 2018. DO NOT HESITATE.

The problem with the "fairness" doctrine is that it was never very fair. The "fairness" doctrine gave us David Brooks on the PBS News Hour and one "conservative" squish vs. 4 leftist ideologues. The end of the "fairness" doctrine gave us Rush Limbaugh and Info Wars.

We should all be pushing our congress critters to pass nationwide reciprocity, followed by nationwide constitutional carry, followed by what we should call "NFA Reform" - starting with getting suppressors and SBRs off the NFA list.

There are also things that we need to take care of on the statewide level. In Arizona this includes campus carry. In Nevada, repeal of Question 1. In California... everything. Which reminds me, no matter what state you live in you should consider contributing to CalGuns and other pro-2A groups there. Any progress made in California would be huge.

“. I can drive safely across this country without being ambushed by cops in California, Illinois, Colorado, New York, Massachusetts etcetera .....for carrying a firearm.”

Why would the cops in Colorado ‘ambush’ you? It’s legal to carry in your car here and we have shall issue CCW.

Additionally Colorado has reciprocity with 30ish states. Still haven’t figured out why SC won’t acknowledge a Colorado chp. Many of the other states sre who you would expect; left coast, MD, north east.

PA, WI and MI are huge gun states. Will be interested to see the analysis in the coming days of the 2016 election in regards to gun owners.

I have been wondering about that as well. I suspect that the NRA’s presence in those states was grossly underestimated by the Democrats. Gun rights are a pretty big deal in Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina too. Not saying it was the only decisive factor in the Trump win but in those close races, it definitely mattered.
