While the world was watching America's gay rights transformation, the Obama administration was pursuing a quieter mission to try to export the same freedoms overseas to places like sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and eastern Europe.
The U.S. has deployed its diplomats and spent tens of millions of dollars to try to block anti-gay laws, punish countries that enacted them, and tie financial assistance to respect for LGBT rights. It was a mission animated in part by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's declaration that "gay rights are human rights."
Yet the U.S. encountered occasional backlash, including from some rights groups that said public pressure by the West made things worse....

In 2012 the finance directors of the Obama campaign and the DNC were both gay men.
Also, in Democrat circles, gay (and feminist) issues are a lot less controversial than either economic/class or racial issues.

Oh! Finally figured out why Obama-nation is pushing faggotry - to give the Muslims a reason to invade the USA.
Our "gays" don't care what the Iranians or Chinese or Vietnamese or Cubans or Venezuelans do to their fellows. No, they are in solidarity with every single one of these "fellow-oppressed." But they hate with a passion the very countries where "gay rights" actually exist. I wonder if this is just a symptom of their self-hatred?
And we all know that despite Israel's unfortunately typical "western" "gay" friendly policies that the miltiant "gays" accuse them of "pinkwashing" and condemn them for oppressing their fellow oppressed pseudo-theocrats.
Since "gays" obviously don't really give a whizz about "gay rights" for real, I fail to see why anyone would feel the need to invoke it.
