Real Clear Politics Explains “Why WikiLeaks Attack Fizzled”
Eagle Rising ^ | October 24, 2016 | Philip Hodges

Real Clear Politics posted an article about why WikiLeaks email attacks “fizzled.”

Writer Bill Scher downplayed the exposed machinations of the Clinton campaign, and even Hillary’s handsomely rewarded speeches before big banks and Wall Street. He explained how “WikiLeaks tried to take down a candidate with embarrassing private emails and failed.”

Scher wrote that the only thing “exposed” by the Podesta emails is the “grist of political life.” This is just the way things are. “It doesn’t make our politicians or our Democracy a sham,” he stated.

In fact, if we were to uncover the emails from the Ted Cruz campaign, or some other candidate, we’d find similar calculations, political maneuver plans, and discussions about how to spin certain things in interviews with the media. And Donald Trump’s internal campaign emails would be “in their own category of insanity,” according to Scher.

I don’t contest his premise that so far the WikiLeaks revelations have “fizzled.” But Scher missed a big point about why that’s happened. It’s not that the American public doesn’t care about the contents of the leaked emails. It’s that most people – particularly those of the Democratic persuasion – don’t care enough to even find out what’s in them.

Most people allow their opinions to be shaped by their media networks of choice. With the exception of Fox News, the national media isn’t covering the contents of the Podesta emails; the pay-to-play schemes revealed by them between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation; Hillary’s numerous paid speeches before big banks and financial institutions – that she claims to hate in public – that have until now been kept secret by the Clinton campaign; and the overall dirty politics that Americans have long grown weary over.

Most of the media is either downplaying the corruption, or pretending that there’s nothing there to report on, leading their viewers to believe that there’s just nothing to see, and that the real focus needs to be on the several unsubstantiated claims of women against Donald Trump. Remember, if the media doesn’t report on something, it doesn’t exist. And when they do report on something, it must be true.

One other thing. There’s no evidence that these emails were “stolen” or are the result of a hack. Nor is there evidence that Russia is behind it. That’s the Clinton narrative. If they can convince people that it’s “stolen” private information, and that Russia is deliberately interfering with the U.S. electoral process, then that makes Democrats’ case better that people shouldn’t be reading them. But it’s all conjecture.

The way WikiLeaks has always operated is by having sources leak information, documents, and emails to them. They don’t hire hackers to steal this information. It’s a refuge for whistleblowers. Liberals used to champion WikiLeaks for being a voice for exposing corruption in governments around the world. But now liberals hate WikiLeaks, because the organization has shown itself to be independent and non-partisan. They’re not on any political party’s team.

Does that mean that it must have not been the result of hackers? No. It just means that there’s no evidence to support that claim.

Can’t wait until the 1st DT press conference where Breitbart and Info Wars have credentialed reporters present while MSM are getting quotes from the press pool.

The GOP has been ceding the cities forever. Trump isn’t by way of his courting the black and minority vote in the cities. When was the last time a GOP candidate ever openly courted the black vote? I know he has a diversity outreach program, yet I have no idea how effective it is. I wish he would spend more time in the cities of the battleground states instead of merely mentioning them at his rallies. He needs to go on black radio, etc. and talk about school vouchers, bringing jobs back and making the streets safe.

If there ever was a time for a GOP candidate to gain a larger than normal share of the black vote, this is it. Each inner city black vote Trump gets makes it a little more difficult for the Dems to commit their usual voter fraud.

If Trump can get 20% of the black vote this race is over and he wins big.

The MSM is successful because too many Americans don't want to think, they want to be told what to think, with pretty newscasters and cool pictures, fuzzy tales of everything is just normal today so you can back to your serfdom tomorrow.
Wiki leaks takes effort to discern and even some thought in reading between lines at times.
The trick is to somehow get an app for smart phone that turns the most damning Wiki leaks into a trivia game or something like that and you may get traction.
I send links to my conservative friends and they send them to liberal friends and those dumbass libs think the Russian government actually wrote them.

If a tree falls in a forest and the media hides the photos, eye witness accounts, film, audio, and forensics indicating it obviously did so, did it really happen?
First, the MSM blacks out coverage critical to our nation and THEN they claim it received no coverage because it wasn’t legitimate otherwise, it would have been in the MSM news????
Absence of evidence (news reports) isn’t evidence of absence (doesn’t prove it never happened, even that’s what they are insisting).

Two weeks before the 1980 the media and the Carter campaign were congratulating each other and telling us our conservative nominee had divided the GOP so badly that the party wouldn’t elect a president for 30 years.
Now we see again a Dem crippled by scandal; a Dem whose cover as a mild-mannering Pop Pop was blown as a petty man so overwhelmed by his job; and opposed by a genial problem solver.
Nobody believed that Ronald Reagan would be the best president of the 20th century.
This is not the time to get your knickers in a knot. This is your destiny and your quest.
You were born for this day. Win this and we will walk together forever!

It did not fail, and it ain’t over either. Trump hung “Crooked” around Hillary’s neck like a ship anchor long ago. This, if nothing else, removes all doubt.

Let the media daisy chain do one another endlessly ‘til the wheels fall off. Those of us who are sentient American people have finally figured it out, are wide awake, and have tuned out the idiot box and the bought-off talk radio preeners such as Glenn Beck (bless his wee bleeting heart).

Not only have the MSM failed to report the sound of a tree falling in the forest. They deny that a tree even fell. They deny that the forest exists, and scoff at those who believe the sky is blue.

A puff of wind, and the whole House of Cards is going to come crashing down. Even if no news type with a modicum of believeability survives the media implosion to seek answers to the questions that should have been asked while the iron was hot, the Truth will all come out.

We are about to experience something the World has not seen since the collapse of the Soviet Union. A mob of Democrats will rush to the embassies and consulates of every foreign country that lacks an extradition treaty with the United States and is willing to grant them political asylum in exchange for suitcases full of cash, rare and precious metals, diamonds, and gold fillings.

I look forward to watching the streaming video of this mass exodus on YouTube.

In fact, if we were to uncover the emails from the Ted Cruz campaign, or some other candidate . . .

It would be wonderful if 1,000 plus Trump emails were hacked/leaked in bulk and turned out to be positive, patriotic, and at least mostly the image Trump supporters want to see.

Has WikiLeaks spent it’s charge? No more emails? Nothing else to share? Is it over?

just because “it’s the way things are”, does not make it right or that it’s ok to continue doing that way.

Uh, isn’t this what Trump means by “a rigged system”? When the normalcy of a system involves shady dealings, underhanded methods, scurrilous conniving, please don’t say that it’s just the way business is done. Say the way things are done have been corrupted—and need changing.

Spent it’s charge..lol. Those emails did nothing to move support to Trump. It was merely a very very disappointing distraction much like O’Keefe’s nothingburger videos and Drudges promises with headlines. Trump just do this himself.

See? Corruption and deception are just "normal politics and to be expected - not reviled"....

Says it all - we need Trump.

I am on twitter, and there are Wikileaks links showing up in my feed. And I do read articles about the emails, and the news I watch (FOX) at least does some coverage of the scandal. I may not know every tiny detail about the world, but I am not ignorant of this. But for most people who simply watch the nightly TV news programs, this might as well be a memory hole.

Not just Dems, but Republicans should be streaming out as well because the vast majority of them are just as corrupt and in collusion. They're the Washington Generals of politics....purposely throwing the game so the leftist agenda can keep advancing.
