Couldn’t bring yourself to watch it? Why?

I think Trump did 8/10. Hillary needed a sarcastic remark that Trump couldn’t respond too, but she’s so overcoached that’s impossible. Trump, on the other hard, could have delivered a kill shot on the “accepting the vote outcome” issue by just mentioning Al Gore. He could have totally destroyed Hillary twice by mentioning voter fraud when Hillary was talking about either accepting the vote outcome or Russian tampering by saying “your people are the ones tampering/ are the reason the vote can’t be accepted” and then talked about Creamer.

I think he did well though and expect a 3-5% win spread on election day. It might be more as Hillary had 10% less voter enthusiasm. This, of course, will shift with any new info.

Like you, I continue to be disappointed in how this is going. On some very simple points that can be understood across the board, I've tried to reach the Trump campaign for several weeks and found it impossible. Maybe it's because I'm a nobody who has only worked on local and state campaigns.

I think that campaign wise he is every bit as controlled and insulated as Hillary. But I continue to have this remote feeling that he might take this in a landslide similar to the BRexit vote. If that happens I hope he becomes a tireless detractor of the national media.

Thanks, kind of how I feel.

Trump hates politics and yak, yak, yak. Trump’s a doer and he loves America and hates politicians & these sleazy politicians.

God bless Trump and God bless Amrica.

Trump by a mile as all the focus groups show.

Concen Trolls, and butt hurt Cruzites still bearing a grudge, need to wake up this is not about reaching YOU. Your mind is all ready made up. This is about reaching people who’s votes can still be swayed.

Trump had to walk a fine line between highlighting Hillary incompetence and corruption while still coming off as “presidential”. He did that last night.

"Too bad Trump didn’t mention that she was fighting aids in Africa with watered down drugs, lol."

It's not a laughing matter. I am baffled at how little his campaign team and debate prep coaches seem to know about the topics discussed continually on blogs.

Russian purchase of uranium. 90% of Clinton Foundation money spent on charity, Heller decision on DC gun ban, WIKIleaks coming from Russia,
...so many chances fell by the wayside.

"...pointing out that we now have proof the violence at his rallies was coordinated by her campaign"

His third-best hit on her of the evening, though he had many.

Despite that Wallace gave Hillary 6 minutes more speaking time than Trump, he carried the evening with thoughtful responses—many of them truly deft pivots to his desired topic—while Hillary seemed to spend most of the evening mechanically repeating memes hammered to death a thousand times already; "the Khan family, John McCain, the Mexican Judge, etc."

She went from concerned frown to manic pasted-on smiley-mug every time she started talking... truly unnerving to the average viewer.

To sum up, Trump was Trump (chick magnet, vote machine) and Hillary was a caricature of herself (psycho political mannequin, diseased clown).

Trump ~ 65%

Skank ~ 27%

I do not know. I could not listen to Shillary. What a horrible whiny voice. I guess Trump won then

Earlier I said that nothing in these debates is going to change a committed mind. But, as far as the 20% or so described as undecided, I think he got their attention on several simple to understand points and won plenty of voted that she can’t possibly touch.

YES! THAT was the goal.

He already had us at “Hello”. Last night was not about us.
He was after those Independents and undecideds who know ONLY what the media says he is. A mad man, gad fly, unserious... etc.

He was cool. And. He nailed her.

Making his supporters hearts thrill was not the goal.

Trump won, but failed to land a kill shot.

Trump won because he got his positions out unfiltered to a national audience. For example, I kept thinking how his strong position against NAFTA was lighting up people who were hearing what they’ve felt since it was signed.

I personally scored it a tie.

He did well in most areas, well enough to call it a win. She did well enough with her lying, canned answers to hold her own. If we had an honest media, she would have been blown out of the water.

I wished he could have given a few better answers to frame the reasons for people to vote FOR him; he did best in pointing to her dishonesty and incompetence.

He has three weeks to drive those points he missed home, and I think he will.

did he miss some golden opportunities

He sure did.

When Hillary came out swinging against his alleged groping, Trump should have shot back:

"Where were you, Hillary, when your husband was groping, abusing and raping women? Where were you?"

Trump could then have pointed out Hillary's hypocrisy in claiming to be for women, while systematically abusing and blaming the victims of her husband's sexcapades.

That would have been a home run hit out of the park.

We won twice. After 2 straight election losses with bad candidates we finally get one that can do the job. Also he won’t surround himself with idiots and crooks like we’ve had for the last 8 years and the Dems are promising at least 4 more of the same. The other win is that we won’t have to see Hillary until election day.

Great analysis!

And even CNN focus group gave the night to TRUMP. TRUMP knew what he was doing.

He was not after us, but after those undecideds and never voted Americans.

He has virtually no surrogates. He can not cover every single crime of Hillary R. Clinton and still function in a debate about policy.

I wish he painted her as a dangerous person, a warmonger, which fits because during her SS role, she destabilized the entire middle east and basically created ISIS. He did it a little bit, but he needs to make her look more scary because SHE IS SCARY.

I have no doubt that if she wins, my boys will end up fighting some war for her in a third world craphole because someone paid her a billion dollars for a nuke...or whatever fraud scheme she continues with.

She has done very well at painting him as the second coming of hitler and this scares people and he should counter it. Her supporters believe this and will lie, cheat, beat up, steal etc to make sure he doesn’t win.
