If Holt dares to “fact check” Trump, I can guarantee that Trump will not do a Romney and stand there with his thumb up his arse. The classiest and most effective thing that he could say would be along the lines of, “Hey, Lester, I though that this was a debate between Secretary Clinton and myself. Who invited you to take sides?”
Actually, I kind of hope that Holt DOES try to interfere - that’ll prove, beyond any shadow of a doubt to millions who are first really tuning into this election, that Trump is right when he says that “its all rigged.” Trump will win the debate going away if Holt does this...so, please, Lester - interfere to your heart’s content!!!
I remember the one FOX debate. Trump, Cruz, Rubio, and Gov of Ohio.
It was all + moderators against Trump. Chris Wallace had the slide show to trap Trump.
Didn’t work then. 6 vs 1 (I think there were three moderators)

Holt could well “pull a Candy Crowley” but Donald Trump is no George Romney. Bringing a butter knife to a gunfight is a relevant analogy here.
