I tend to think that is inimical to a cooler head scenario.

She’s likely to skate as far as any criminal prosecution, but ought to consider a different career. Why doesn’t a police team even have a way to talk with one another to head off uncoordination when faced with a non standard scenario. Like “Betty, hold your fire — I’m tazing!”

Well, is summary. Women are no damned good as law officers dealing with drugged up 280 lb neanderthals! They have no chances, That is what happened here, She panicked ( peed in panties) and shot the drugged up ,PCP, freak out of stark fear. Get women back in aptitudes they can handle and get them out of the male business. This is one of thousand of examples covered up by PC. She is history.

Well written and as far as I can tell, pretty accurate. Watching the helicopter video I thought he may be on some kind of drugs too, didn’t think specifically of PCP though. But it makes sense. People on enough PCP will do some really strange things. It was once passed off as Angel Dust, and I’ve known people who did some really bizarre things.

walking to the car casually is what tipped me off, anyone in his right mind with pistols pointed in his general direction will NOT do that. From the video I couldn’t tell either if he was trying to reach inside the car, open it or reach into his waistband.

I’ve known a few cops, I understand a lot of he way they talk. I’ve heard the term “good shooting” and “good takedown”. Things they would never say to the families. I also know 99% are not racist or intentionally brutal. And they HATE IT when you don’t pull over and get the hell out of the way when their lights come on. In the 20 seconds I saw a cop take to get through a red light a few weeks ago because nobody would stop, someone could have died.

I don’t want to make a call on this one yet, we don’t know enough to decide who was in the wrong or if the officer had good reason to fire. I do wonder why someone didn’t at least try a taser. I heard the chopper pilot say it was taser time. I thought so too. That’s a big question, but as noted, someone on PCP might just shrug it off. And PCP is not the only one, someone on meth might be almost as bad. I’ve seen people act downright bizarre once a meth binge gets into hallucination stage.

Who knows what really happened? This article is very good, it gives you an insight from a cop’s perspective, something we don’t usually get. Having talked to several cops about this kind of thing, I know a lot of it is very accurate.

Same as with Michael Brown and Freddie Gray, this soon in the investigation we, as civilians not privy to details, don’t know anywhere near enough to make a decision. We saw what can happen with Michael Brown, the hands up don’t shoot lie, and now in Charlotte. Same thing, it appears now a book was nowhere in sight.

So at best, all we can do is wait and see what comes of the investigation. At worst, we can believe the false narrative and incite more violence.

Chelsea Whitaker is a Dallas Area Police Officer and member of the 2005 Baylor Bear Basketball Team that won the 2005 National Championship. She tells Law Officer that she “is just trying to help whoever will listen to put all this chaos in perspective.”

I suspect that any athlete from a championship BB team, male or female, will still be in better shape 30 years later, than most dudes from off the street. With the training she has as an officer, if she can't bring a 135 lb. guy down, then I would say that PCP must really change the equation.

We know little about the Tulsa officer, but all ladies I have met that became officers all started out as HS or college athletes. Even fly-over Tulsa has police standards to meet.
