Why You Can Expect To See More Violence In Schools This Year

Two years ago I chased down a single dad whose son attended schools in the same district as the infamous Missourian Michael Brown. Sixty-six-year-old Paul Davis, a cab driver and son of Mississippi sharecroppers, decided to pay $1,500 in rent atop his mortgage just to get his son Robert out of some of the nation’s most violent schools by establishing residency in a better school district.

Davis told me about the time in fifth grade other black boys had held Robert down until he peed on himself; the time bullies stole his book bag; the many times they attacked Robert—in classrooms, in hallways, in the lunch room.

In middle school Robert, who has mild autism, became a favorite target for bullies because his mom is white and his dad is black, so “he was the lightest kid in the whole school.” Eight days into seventh grade, another boy shoved Robert’s arm between two desks. The teacher called an administrator, who took Robert to the nurse’s room. The nurse wasn’t there, so the administrator sent Robert back to class. And that was the end of it. Davis’s blood boiled.

..back in 2011 former Education Secretary Arne Duncan and former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told schools that consequences for bad behavior, not the behavior itself, was to blame for the “school to prison pipeline.” In 2014 the pair issued regulations telling schools they would be liable for federal investigation if they recorded data showing black or Latino students had committed more infractions than white or Asian students.

It's 'racist' to suspend or expel minority students, even if they're repeat troublemakers.

Another in a long list of 0bama's "accomplishments."

Stupidity re-defined. Also, racism re-defined.

Go, Trump, GO!

Everything the Socialists touch is destroyed. The Family Unit, The Schools, the Inner Cities that they CONTROL.

WHY can’t ANYONE inside those bubbles SEE that?

Meh. Never mind. Stockholm Syndrome.

If the Left has its way, writing an article like this one will soon be a crime. I also wonder why a teacher can’t call the police and file assault charges against students who directly attack them, but, I suppose, that is a career ending move.

The democrap party has made it a campaign stratefy to manipulate black people into fuming hatred, to keep America from coming together to throw the criminal enterprise party out of power. THAT is what is behind school violence this Fall, and street violence, and perhaps even black power bombings.

Yes, the schools receive federal funds for each student that "attends"; if they've been suspended/expelled those funds dry up.

Another reason to abolish the Dept. of Education.

Ah yes, you can only address the violence of those least likely to commit it; the rest you excuse, and thus encourage. Fundamental transformation indeed.

You are likely right. If a teacher doesn’t have tenure, he or she wouldn’t be rehired for the next year. Some schools insist that anything that happens at school has to be handled through the administration, ie. principal or superintendent. Calling the cops could be considered a firing offense even for a tenured teacher. If not, it would begin the process of making life in the school unbearable for the ‘offending’ teacher. The worst assignments in classes, etc. etc. In many districts reporting an off campus assault by a student might end a career.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

And it took that much before the dad took action just why?

My daughter is a police officer at a Texas college and says they now have BLM classes, and encourage meetings in the free speech area. Almost all of their time is spent now keeping the morons from killing each other in the "safe space". They now have drugs by the kilo instead of the usual "baggie". Open carry is being decided in court as we type, but concealed carry has been here for awhile.

College is no longer for learning how to make a living, but how to protest and whine until you get what you want. The idiots bringing in these dissents have been given scholarships by the state but can hardly read, write, and speak English. They try this every few years and they just stay for a year, get arrested and spend all their money and drop out to work for McDonalds forever. They come in dope heads, rapists, and burglars, and leave dope heads, rapists, and burglars. We, of course get stuck with billions in fees and tuition wasted.

How ‘bout ‘pay your OWN way’ instead? There is NOTHING *free* about ‘free’ public education, let alone exemplary with > State control too.

Kill the property taxes, write the check for the service and watch mom/dad really start to give-o-sh!t about little Johnny\Jill’s education.

A separate Department of Education dates back to the Carter administration, but before that there was the Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW), going back to 1953. The rest of HEW became HHS. The Secretary of Education became a cabinet officer but I think a lot of the programs probably go back to the HEW era.

Yep...Carter started the Dept of Education, a separate entity of government in 1979...That’s basically when the education system left state control and started going straight to h*ll...It has never veered off course since then...

Close it down and return education to state control...

Because after fifty years of American liberalism, the nation’s screwed.

Get rid of property taxes and privatize all schools. No socialist government schooling, period.

“Vouchers.......”

Disaster for private schooling long-term. Any private school which accepts vouchers will be subject to government regulation and control.
