It is constitutionally impossible to postpone the election.
Anatcy=anarchy
Navaertheless, these are interesting times.
All of this is spending amounts to charity -- should be financed, organized and donated VOLUNTARILY AND VIA THE PRIVATE SECTOR in the vast majority of instances.
Trump knows all this -- and is about to cut off the "special interest " corporate welfare gravy train... These Billions should remain in the United States to rebuild our infrastructure, help our vets, fund our hospitals and military. If someone wants to fight disease in Africa or rebuild Afghanistan, great -- and they should be applauded for doing that, but it should be on their OWN dime, working through church groups and non-profits.
I hope Trump remains healthy and becomes our next President. 🇺🇸
Well the USSC seems to be balanced at half a banana, half an apple at this point.
Pure FUD.
Vote Trump 2016
A great comeback of the religious private charity model would do wonders for alleviating ills of government socialism, or more specifically the folie-a-deux of socialism and socialist sugar-daddies (crony capitalists) which manages to find symbiosis.
The rank and file of the military does as they are ordered to do. Besides, they have their share of muzzies and young libs.
He doesn’t need ‘no stinkin’ House or Senate. He issues EO’s and does as he pleases. Take Obamacare, he didn’t care that it was not funded. He went forward with developing it anyway. He freely violates many many laws...immigration, budgets, etc.
The GOPe is the same as the Dems. They are just “on assignment” to the Republican Party. Their allegiance is to the same global bosses. They would holler and proceed to buckle under, same as they always have done.
I don’t know if the article is BS or not. I just know they are all (99%) complicit and will do as they are told, if they want their gravy train to continue.
Nonsense.
When you vote you are voting for electors. Those electors almost always vote for the party ticket they’re pledged to. If a candidate dies prior to the electors voting the party can designate a new person and the electors will (likely will) honor their pledge and vote for the party ticket they’re pledged to. If the candidate is elected by the electors but dies prior to inauguration then the vice-president become president elect.
That would be the orderly way. And Hillary could soldier through it as best she can limp, knowing the business can be turned over to Kaine should her votes carry the race. But will her pride let her plan a transition like this in a graceful manner? That’s a whole ‘nother question.
Where in the Constitution do you find reference to a “Presidential election”?
These stories are bunk
It would be in state laws and constitutions that their participation in such a procedure would be found.
You are right. I just reread Article 2, Section 1 and there is no reference to a general election. I shall ask the admin to remove my post.
“It is constitutionally impossible to postpone the election.”
A lot of things seemed constitutionally impossible, and yet they happen. Obamacare, for one, didn’t seem constitutionally possible.
The “Deep State” would not dare postpone the election; it would be too blatant.
If they were to succeed in postponing the election, no subsequent election would be worth having. We would be over as a representative republic.
They can’t postpone the election because they cannot control the blow back. All the power would flow to Trump.
“There is no requirement to have a Presidential election. In fact, such a thing is not even mentioned once.”
Since Americans have always had presidential elections, early Americans must have thought that they were required — and states elected their representatives before the Constitution was adopted. Americans were sensitive about a tyranny of the few back then. The Constitution prescribed qualifications for voting.
A pre-pardon would be a first, but it would be absolutely no different from the unprecedented, dictatorial Executive Orders emanating from the White House over the past many years.
Tell that to Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford when Ford gave Nixon "a full and unconditional pardon for any crimes he might have committed against the United States while president."
I know a guy, who knows a guy....
