And, football fans (fanatics) will not even blink. In Wisconsin, football is religion. The fans will forgive quickly and continue to pay outrageous prices for seats and will set aside Sunday afternoons, Monday and Thursday nights for worship of the game. I don’t understand it, and they will lose nothing from my views since I do not watch football any longer.
No. It’ll get boring fast and peter out. These kind of things have a short shelf life. This’ll be one of the footnotes on the season, by the time the playoffs hit it’ll be “remember at the beginning of the season when we actually worried who was and wasn’t standing for the anthem?”.
That makes it a bigger thing. As shown by the fact that people are actually talking about that soccer match which normally would never happen. In a few weeks the new will have worn off, the “controversy” will have played out, and nobody will care.
NFL is a private business. If they want to play Wagner or Sting before a game, that’s their perogative, but we shouldn’t get our knickers all wound up about their choice of song or what how their employees behave when the song is played.
the fact that a privare business wants to make money off patriotism is kinda distasteful to me.
