In my humble opinion, what this Colin Kaepernick shtick is leading to is the eventual outright ban of the national anthem at sporting events. That's where the left-wing ESPN and NFL are taking this. Too political, they'll say. One of the few places where people bond together patriotically outside of the military, and the left is going to try to kill it. They may be successful.
No, that can't be. If you ban the National Anthem then what would Kaepernick protest during?
Never, the backlash would be a financial disaster for both.
Everyone needs something to rally about. What do they want to replace it with? The Communist Internationale? Rap?

They should just play our National Anthem while the players are in the locker room. Don’t let them out until the Anthem is comlete. Just like they did at a soccer match in Seattle.
These players are free to protest but not on my dime. That would settle that.

I knew this was gonna happen. First they take out prayer then they remove the national anthem and pledge. Just like with our schools.
Not gonna happen for the very reason someone stated- it’d be a financial disaster.
Also, this wouldn’t fly in the deep red states. Anyone think an Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. game is going to ban the anthem.

I quit watching ALL Pro Sports about 30 years ago because of the the abject MORAL BANKRUPTCY Pro Sports team exhibit, I think it is about to go MAINSTREAM for precisely the same reason, and I hope the National Felon League ceases to exist in the very near future.
Mmmm I dunno. We do know that the left has been attacking football from within, as it is a uniquely American, and macho sport. However it is so ingrained into American culture and tradition that I can see it taking a hit but still surviving.
So it would be a win-win for the left. If they remove the anthem and the NFL goes under, they win. If they remove the anthem and the majority of fans, however slim, accepts it (grudgingly or otherwise), they still win.
It may be successful but there money, all of it....kiss it goodbye.
I can live just fine without the NFL, Starbucks, or Chase!
