It was - and still is - the only answer possible.

Some LEOs get it. Others don’t.

But whether they get it or not is irrelevant to me - MY life is just as valuable to me as his life is to him.

Only difference is, HE has “state-sanctioned” permission and then follow-up legal protection at Taxpayers’ expense to defend his.

You and I don’t get that benefit of the doubt.

I haven’t found the perfect place to keep my pistol in my truck. Normally I carry at 4 o’clock IWB on my right side, but I have to unbuckle the seatbelt to draw. I’ve kept it in the center console and the door pocket, but it shifts around and can be difficult to locate in a hurry. I considered mounting it under the steering column, but my Ford truck has a fuse panel located there and I don’t think the cover will properly support my pistol. I don’t want the pistol and cover to fall off when I go over a bump.

A shoulder holster would work, but I don’t want to have to wear a jacket here in the Florida heat. I considered mounting a holster between the seat and the center console, but there’s not much room there and the center console is plastic. I think it would crack and break if I hung any kind of weight on it.

1911 cocked and locked in cross draw holster on left side. That way the seat belt doesn’t get in the way.

I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland, where they will prosecute you for handgun possession, even if you own it legally, if you are not on the most direct route between home and range or home and gunsmith. My firearms were always at home, until I took them boating . . .

In the car? I always have a legal tool, a pocketknife, in a useful position. By definition, a pocketknife of any size cannot be considered a weapon. It does not have to be in your pocket or even closed to be a tool and not a weapon, so that’s what I carry. I also don’t go to Maryland’s many areas that are extra dangerous because criminals know that they are the only ones with firearms.

You can car-carry in CA without a ccw. When my dad visits from NV to CA, he puts a semi-auto in an open lock box. If he needs it he grabs it and inserts a mag. If cops pull him over, he shuts/locks the case.

“You’re a funny guy. Bet you didn’t know even flaming libs up here are gun owners and mmany pack.”

It was a joke-—that’s why I put the smile symbol.

I got pulled over for speeding with a pistol AR, a carbine AR, glock 22, keltec p3at and a 870 tactical pump, over 1500 rounds of ammo and the DPS officer asked son what are you so afraid of you need to carry all these guns...not a damn thing was my answer we both laughed as my records came back clean of course and my military service plates showed I am a veteran. I was heading home for winter break and this was the minimum I felt was acceptable to bring in my GO bags. Texas law enforcement is easy ti get along with providing you are courteous and professional.

LOL - have you seen the size of a '37 Chev cab? There's barely room for my head much less a gun rack!

Not illegal in Denver. Just know exactly what to do, and what NOT to do, if you get pulled over.

#49 You will just have to carry a Tommy gun like the drivers did in the 1930's.

I carjacked your joke and sent it on to friends and family. It was funny. Thanks for posting it.
