Are we running out of farmland? Is that why we need vertical farms? What is going on here?

Not every place in the world, like Japan, has an abundance of land for farming. It’s also a reality that a lot of arable land is being used for non-agricultural purposes. It’s certainly a useful science to try and master before we have to. I don’t know why going up cannot be done on farms outside. It seems to me that is better than trying to do it inside.

< We don't just do vertical farms for the sake of vertical farms. We do a lot to try and think five, seven years ahead for the industry. So, we do things like a sustainability certificate that we're currently working on.

See the word, "sustainability"? That's the code word for regulate. Anytime you see that word mentioned with an organization pushing it you can assume the following to be true: 1. The organization is backed by Marxist ideaologists (and most likely rich white billionaires) 2. An idea today; forced government regulation tomorrow. 3. Any solutions or research they provide is most likely bogus; the results are what they say they are. They are manufactured to back their assertions. 4. There are already investors lined up to invest in the technology so that they can sucker others into the pool and take their money. 5. Someone has a brother in law or business partner who will provide the services or manufacture the product and give kickbacks to the high tier players and keep a share themselves. All will end up wealthy except the "suckers". 6. The technology is not tried, true, or tested and doesn't work as advertised. It won't even work as well as the standard method at all. 7. The product or service has nothing to do with sustainability. It never was.

Another sustainable X gimmick - everyone is jumping on board without thinking things through but following the money and staying even or ahead of the competition no matter the worth or cost - lie the early days of the global warming scam - anything with ‘sustainability’ in its description or name is a lefty idea for increasing their power over the unsuspecting public with nice sounding words.
