don't know what to make of the statement from the Assange interviews

Sure you do.  Big money to be made making up stuff about TPP.  iirc there was another thread saying the TPP is 6,000 pages long from some other pundit selling op-ed copy.  Doesn't matter that anyone can download the full text & read all 700-some pages because these guys still have a market to sell their stories.

Isn't trade great!?

I think you might have solved the puzzle without intending to. For months most used the figure of 5,000 pages to describe the size of the TPP agreement. If only 700 pages have been released, then there is Assange's 14%.

700/5,000 = 14%.

And we were told for months that the agreement would be made public at some point, but if only 700 pages have been released, then we're back to "you have to pass it to find out what's in it".

So, Assange might be correct, and if so, it is pathetic that we don't hear the opponents of TPP demanding to see the rest of the thousands of pages.
