Weve failed again.
Its less than eight months into 2016 and the ominous day is already nearly upon us: Earth Overshoot Day, previously known as Ecological Debt Day, is a reminder of the enormous toll we take on the Earth.
The day marks the juncture when humanitys demand for ecological resources exceeds what the planet can replenish annually. In 2016, it falls on Monday, which means people have already consumed an entire years worth of the worlds resources ― and we still have four months to go until the years end.
For the rest of 2016, well be living on resources borrowed from future generations, as the World Wildlife Fund pointed out when we failed last year.

This is their feel-good story of the week.
Madness!!!
” Earth Overshoot Day, previously known as Ecological Debt Day”
The sh*t liberals come up with..
ROTFL! Liberals are so loopy. Although, this is funny.
If HUFFPO is so worried about it, why don’t they shut off their computers and go home where they can shut off their AC and all their lights and just go to bed ?
What BS....Huffpo has used up all its tolerance with me.
Maybe the huffpost should stop wasting our precious electrons.
Dominique a nika nika needs to do one of these nifty charts about the U.S. Treasury next. I’d like to see that one and how much we’ve overshot our budget.
because liberals are LIARS AND HYPOCRITES. They preach to others what they should do but WONT.
I can’t wait until it gets to January!
And yet Liberals are all for unlimited immigration from places where people lead low consumption/carbon lifestyles to places where they lead high consumption/carbon ones.
They harp about this imaginary debt they’ve invented, but you’ll never see them lift a finger to help solve the issue of the actual debt that we are being crushed under.
Ask a liberal to tell you how much it will cost to fix global warming. Go ahead, I dare you.
Mother Earth to fraidy cats: “Don’t worry. I’ll make more.”
They can stop eating and breathing, too. That would help the deficit.
Of course, even if their whole audience did that, it would hardly put a dent into the problem. Then again, maybe it would completely solve the problem - or at least make the nagging go away.
What a steaming pantload, as usual from HuffPo. We’ve been hearing this nonsense at least since the first “Earth Day” (1970) and even before.... imminent collapse of human civilization, exhaustion of natural resources, etc. The idiots don’t know the first thing about economics, or geology, biology, physics, etc.
