There will be no coup in the United States.

And in line with the articles premise, the very fact that there was a coup was concealed with great energy.

I doubt there’s a single FReeper who thinks the 82nd Airborne would devise a coup if Trump OR Hillary wins. Perhaps if you get “so sick” of what you perceive as “doomsday crap”, you might not want to click on those threads that make you sick. Others do indeed like laughing at the ramblings of Talcum-X and discussions thereof.

Anyway, the 82nd reference brought up issues about posse commitatus & the larger question as whether the Federal government has at its disposal the sheer manpower to effect a martial law takeover of the United States. I say it doesn’t & commandeering the states’ law enforcement assets is problematic.
But yes, there are FReepers who think Obama can & will come for our guns. Again, we know he wants to but can’t. Look at his foot-stamping frustration every time he so much as brings up the subject of guns. It’s fun to watch; how he wishes he could darken the skies with hordes of flying monkeys going out to seize all the guns.

The American coup is being accomplished by the Supreme Court, which for some reason people seem to expect and permit to rule over us.
Yeah, and look how that turned out. That little stunt got us LBJ who passed every bit of hair-brained legislation that JFK would never have been able to get through Congress.
Hard to know what the assassins had in mind (seeing as there is still so much controversy about who was involved), but I suspect they were not doing it to pass the Great Society and the Immigration and Nationality act of 1965.
