Wrong. I prefer concealed carry, but open carry has certain advantages, too. Open carry is much faster to deploy. Most thugs looking to rob some place are looking for easy money, drugs. They aren’t looking for a deadly gunfight that they might lose, they will most likely move on to easier pickings. The exceptions are those killers who want to kill someone, and then they will attack no matter. And in that situation, open carry with faster deployment might save your life. That said, I still carry concealed unless I am just going down to the corner store from the farm here for something, in which case I just wear what I’ve been carrying here on the place.
even when hiking and wearing OWB level 2 holster i usually have an aloha shirt covering it. The level 2 is so it stays in the holster if i slip and slide down a hill. every class i take i use my IWB at the 4 o’clock. at least 2 classes they let me draw concealed. usually i just take my outer shirt off. i can draw as fast as someone with a “normal” OWB holster. lots of practice.
