As news broke Thursday night that at least four police officers in Dallas had been murdered, hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters took to social media to celebrate, condone, or excuse the shootings.

Here are only a few examples of the dozens that have been posted over the last hour alone:

I honestly believe videos contribute to more hostile/
aggressive behavior by those stopped.

My CHL instructor told me years ago to keep my hands where the officer can see them and, if he asks me to hand him the weapon, to politely refuse and say, I will step out of the car and you can retrieve my weapon. The partner behind you can’t see whether you’re reaching for a wallet or a gun.

Cops are going to be even more paranoid than ever - not that I can blame them.

We have to be concerned about an unstoppable downward spiral. Retirements ASAP, the good cops getting out of inner cities, and the lack of talented young recruits will leave dangerous urban environments with even worse protection. Inner cities that drive away the talented police are going to have to set up their own police forces or become shooting zones where the residents kill each other and no one else is involved.

It can only get worse as more people, both police and citizens are on edge. What happens when BLM gets some ISIS trained talent to join their ranks?

I saw a suggestion online yesterday which I implemented. Most cars have a place of the sun visors where papers can be stored. If there isn't one, create one. Put auto registration and insurance coverage card in it. That was, there's no reaching down or fumbling around to get ID.

My heart goes out to those Dallas Police and their loved ones. Odds are they were folks who had nothing to do with bad policing. It always works that way.

Only 12-13 years ago I knew some seven officers and serious undercover types as they were nearby neighbors. In Nashville we had this police chief come here from NOLA and he was like the typical Army/Gov management by statistics. This ill advised management system rewards those districts and their officers who report less crime to include less serious crime. It encourages LYING. Our Chief went back to NOLA as their chief about 5-6 years ago. What cops face now is much more danger with MS13 and gang A-Z. This crap of Obama and the likes of Holder etc. have made it much tougher for our police. This damn BLM is also backed by George Soros. Add the Muslims plus all these thugs released for theft and drug use. The job of being a police officer deserves much more respect then Obama and his AG plus DOJ have done to trash these fine men and women. Our Gov is the problem and just look at where new arrivals to our country come from now and have since JFK and LBJ started their globalist BS.

Interesting observation re vicarious suffering but all these demonstrations are organized shows for the media using social media to create flash mobs with an agenda.

Are they still celebrating O.J.’s acquittal?

A snapshot of what happens when “liberals” decide that a certain group is “special”....

I have a simple little drill I practice in my head, then use when I get pulled over (although I pretty much always drive the speed limit any more).

Pull well off the road, where possible. Put the car in Park, engine off. Put Hazard lights on. Turn on interior light so the officer can see me. Roll the window down in advance, as a courtesy (unless it's really cold). Both hands on the wheel until the officer is at my door. When they ask to see any identification, I tell them what I'm reaching for, and where it is (license - back pocket, registration, glove box). This isn't rocket science.

Well, you can rest easy....5 Dallas police officers paid with their lives to make it all better for you. Is 5 enough?

Way to totally twist Tx Angel's points. We need more information on the case, but it's possible that the police mis-handled that one.

As far as I can tell, FReepers overwhelmingly support law enforcement, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't review and judge each incident based on the facts.

Go cry to someone who cares. You are more concerned about the dead thugs than the dead cops. Your agenda is clear for all to see.

From what I heard, the guy was an ex0con and did not have a CCW permit.

Since the left substantially controls the media they will run with unconfirmed information that appears to favor "their side". Confusion is their ally.

We need to stop calling them BLM

We need to call them BLT:

Sounds like an eruption of ESSD, or Extra Special Snowflake Syndrome (it’s “extra special” because of the vicarious aspect).

Could we say they’re ESSD-up?

That’s my question too. Has it been verified through an official source that he had a CCW? Or is it all based on the girlfriend’s say-so?

What an ugly thing to say.

From what information has been released so far, it doesn’t look like this man was a thug. His record has been released and consists of minor traffic violations and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana (1.5 grams).

In the video, the officer is obviously shaken. To me, this looks like a case if miscommunication turned tragic. And I so feel for that poor little girl in the backseat.I feel for all involved.

I back my blue, believe that. But that doesn’t mean that this officer didn’t overreact. And I’m not saying that he did. No one but the officer on the scene and those in the vehicle know what transpired prior to the video.
