I remember when your vote was a private matter. Others did not ask, you did not tell. Sure, there was campaigning, but your vote was no one else’s business. It should be that way again.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect aka “social desireability bias” aka “acting like the cool kids.”
This might be true, but I remember people saying the same thing - granted, to a lesser extent - about Romney in 2012.
I take solace in the fact, however, that a few days ago while I was helping load a grill into the stranger’s truck, he complained about the country’s political situation and said, “Trump will fix it” with absolute conviction. I hope he’s right.
The reverse Bradley/Wilder effect.
People are ashamed to admit that they are going to vote for Trump, so they say they are going to vote for Cankles or Karl, but they aren’t.
Well, who would put a pro-Trump car sticker or yard sign and have the car keyed or yard vandalized by the vicious lefties. The best strategy is to keep your powder dry and deliver the shot when it really counts, in the voting booth.
I have been a registered voter for 46 years and had never been contacted by a pollster until about ten weeks ago. I lied and told the pollster I planned to vote for Hillary in the general election. Surprise! Surprise! I have been polled every week since. I keep telling them I plan to vote for Hillary in the general election. The truth is I would never vote for Hillary even if she was holding a gun against my temple.
I expect to be called this Thursday or Friday too.
Watching the Meeeeginnn special on terrorism on Fox. Commercial break. NRA Trump ad. Benghazi survivor. Powerful.
I was 19 and cast my first got for Nixon in 1972.
I was 19 and cast my first vote for Nixon in 1972.
The “silent majority” thing didn’t really bear out for Romney in 2012, or even for Brexit a week ago. (Brexit was consistently leading in the polls, but pundits and the financial and betting market simply refused to believe it.)
CORRECT!
I think I could agree that Trump’s support is understated. Many people don’t want half-hour conversations with haters as to why Trump should not be supported, so they are choosing to not say anything at all.
The “Silent Majority” is silent because in this fascist county you can lose your job if you express politically incorrect opinion.
I could never go on FB and explain why I think homosexual marriage is wrong. I would probably lose my job.
Similarly, I don’t overtly express my plan to vote for Trump or post it on FB because he has been painted as a racist, etc,; rather I talk to people one on one regarding why he is the best candidate for the job.
I am the owner of a beautiful new red “Make America Great Again” Trump hat. It sits in a closet, in its open box. I live in a liberal state, and I dare not wear it in public.
I know of ONE yard in the area with a Trump lawn sign. I love to drive by it. The same house had a sign for a local philanthropy for a while, and it always seems to have lots of company on weekends.
Then there was the lone man holding a Trump sign at a corner that is frequented by political campaigners. I honked and waved to him, since I was glad to see him.
I refuse to participate in polls over the phone and have refused to do so for years.
I hope that some day soon I will be able to proudly wear my beautiful red MAGA hat—after Trump is elected President!!!!
Remember libs claimed vote fraud when exit polls showed the politically correct candidate would beat Kerry easily? The purpose publicly abuse people who don’t vote Democrat and then are stunned when votes cast in private are counted?
I play a lot of poker up at the local casino and the basic rules are no politics, no religion and keep it clean if there are women at the table - but not this year. Support for Trump comes up almost every time I’m there. I’ve never seen people so desperate for someone to finally be on their side. It is definitely a refreshing sight!
The TRUMP bumper sticker went on my car on the same day. Of course my 98 Subaru is more rust than metal, so I don't worry about scratches or dents.
It saddens me that Americans have been so cowed by the enemedia and public opinion that showing support for the only candidate that has a chance of correcting the leftist course of the country is too scary.
What's that quote that Allen West used? Something about Sunshine Patriots?
I am here in the only republican county in New York. (Putnam) I have seen quite a few Trump bumper stickers around. More than McCain or Romney during 2008, 2012 if I saw any. I cant recall any Hillary stickers, I have seen only Bernie Sanders stickers and just a few of them. Some of the Trump ones are just in windows I guess in case they have to go to enemy territory (Manhattan). It gives me hope for November.
We’d rather not have our homes or vehicles vandalized or be publically harassed.
