As a veteran of Special Forces (and a keen observer of military affairs) I decided with my unique perspective to wade through the 800-plus pages of the Select Committee Report on the Benghazi debacle, which as we all know cost 5 Americans their lives. It is, as you can imagine, a rather daunting task; and far too much material to cover in a single post. So, instead, I will comment on those glaring errors in judgement, actions, and questions remaining as strike me (from a military standpoint) while reading the Report; here in bite-sized parts.
It should be keep in mind that the initial attack on September 11, 2012 upon the Ambassador’s residence at the American Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi (not designated as an official “Consulate”) began (approx) at 9:42 local time. It would continue as an off-and-on engagement for the next 13 hours. The fighting would start at the Diplomatic Mission compound where the Ambassador and six other Americans were present; and continue through the dark streets of Benghazi; and, finally, into the early morning hours at the CIA Annex, which came under siege.

ADMIRAL LYONS: …All those comforting words that “We don’t want to put our forces at risk.” We had people at risk—they were crying for help! In a situation, you go with the resources you have available—and, in this particular case, we did have that 130-man Marine force recon team sitting there at Sigonella. Even if I only got 50 of them over there, that would have been significant in turning the situation around. We may not have been able to save the ambassador, but we certainly could have saved those other two SEALs that were over on the annex.
ADMIRAL LYONS: In perpetuating this lie, we also had administration officials lying to Congressional committees. That’s a felony. So, “What difference does it make?” It makes all the difference in the world. You cannot flaunt the truth here, just walk away from it and, basically, tell the American public to stuff it. That’s not acceptable.
The point on the organizing the two Marine anti-terrorist teams in Rota, that was good to go ahead and stand ’em up. What I find incomprehensible: The first team, it took them 23 hours to go a few hundred miles from Rota to Tripoli. I could go around the world in 23 hours, so that makes absolutely no sense to me.
Don’t forget that General Ham was out on his tail quite shortly after Benghazi. Before Obama, generals were never fired, though admirals could be. Don’t know which is best in abstract, but when it comes to our CinC it is clearly a deleterious policy.

Is that the same Lybian gov't that was supposed to be providing the security for Chris Stevens? (rhetorical question.)
The bottom line: Obama and Hillary did not want the world to know they were running guns (Libya’s former cache) to Syria for ISIS.
The CIA was there to try to find out where the cache was, and to stop the transfer of anymore guns. The CIA had to be doing this under the radar .. because it seems weird that Obama would want the CIA snooping around.
The treachery involved in this Op is just stunning; when you realize that our own President was funneling weapons to the same people we were trying to get rid of .. Whew! I knew Obama hated America, but this is beyond the pale.

Because the 'who' was the 'president.' Where the buck stops. The committee's failure to hold the Executive responsible can only be rationalized through the nebulous doctrine of Executive Privilege.
When or if this history is ever properly written, perhaps after we are all dead, it will be seen clearly that this 'president's' oaths were a lie and he lacked a conscience.
