Brexit bottom line: EU worked for the elite, but not for the British people

Which is why the elite don't see what the problem is

To listen to the howling and wailing from the political and media elites, you’d think the British people were forcing their government to close all the hospitals and burn all the schools down. The reaction to Britain’s exit from the European Union has been that over-the-top hysterical.

The British Empire survived for many centuries before anyone ever conceived of the EU – which was only established in 1993 – and I think it can probably do just fine once again not being a member of it. But you’d never know it to see the reaction to the Brexit vote. It’s as if no nation ever survived independently without being part of a massively bureaucratic international body that insisted on telling all its member states what policies they were and were not free to adopt.

The title should say:

Brexit bottom line: EU worked for the elite, but not for the British people

There’s also the fact that the EU has had mission creep that Britain may not have anticipated or signed on for.

Britain joined the EEC, which was a trading arrangement in 1973. The EEC morphed into the far more political EU in the early 1990’s.

So, for Britain to want a trade association with Europe, but not to be politically subservient, just goes back to their original intent.

A Trump administration should make Cain Secretary of the Dept. of Common Sense.

Same could be said for the US Federal government. It is less and less helpful for the states.

If Trump can do our UNexit, even if nothing else is accomplished, I would consider his the most successful presidency in modern history. He would get bonus points for building a new UN building in Haiti

It’s up to the Brits but their globalist elite will try to build an oppressive socialist bureaucracy stunting their economic competitiveness, safety and freedom.

They will appeal to the economic jealousy of the “little guy” to get power and sink their teeth into the neck of Britain. Their elite (like our’s) are also brainwashed by pc to hate and abuse “racist” native Brits.

The EU – like the UN – is simply the INTERNATIONALIZATION of the WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION scheme the Marxist left (but I repeat myself!) has tried to impose within various individual nations -- INCLUDING HERE -- AND HAS ALWAYS FAILED! BREXIT IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THIS ONE! Despite efforts by former East German communist youth leader Merkel (she's still a commie, for those who haven't noticed!) and her ilk, OTHER DOMINOES WILL FALL!

The elite really aren’t trying to do wealth redistribution, but wealth maximization.

That some money helps some poor people is just a side effect.

That some other money helps bureaucrats (most especially during retirement after years of loyal service) can be thought as baksheesh.

[And the money is usually back in the hands of the rich or a corporation of theirs by the 10th of the month.]

Take health insurance: If you were just trying to fleece ordinary people you’d take the maximum they could afford each month, right?

Guess what they do!

The elite do the same thing with housing via Section 8/housing vouchers/UK council housing benefits.

Instead of letting housing prices be reasonable (~$500/month for an apartment/~$120,000 for a three-bedroom house), the elite subsidize the rents/payments so a middle-class person renting a ~$900/month apartment has to pay ~$400/month more than what a truly free market would provide.

The economic elite provide economic (and if need be political) advice. The political elite provide the laws and regulations the economic elite want. These elites work as a team against the interests of ordinary working people.

If anyone has not done so, download YouTube's one-hour movie called Brexit: The Movie which details the corrosive expansion and elitism rampant in the organization. It is well worth the time - and brings to mind some similarities here in the States.

10,000 unelected bureaucrats who each make approx $300,000 dollars and who destroy as an example the British fishing industry with no recourse for the English except to buy fish that others catch off their shores.

The average British citizen will immediately begin to pay much more for many of their consumer goods - 13% more for American goods. That happens now, today because their currency is taking a bath. Any of the good things promised are down the road and may or may not materialize.
