I believe that the currency issue did more than anything to deliver the late swing to No in the last referendum. The question of the choice between the pound, euro or a currency of Scotlands own was never clarified, and that was fatal to the cause of independence in 2014. Unless the issue is resolved before another referendum I strongly suspect that this issue might again be fatal to the cause of Scottish independence.
There are only four options. They are the pound, the euro, the US dollar or Scotlands own currency.

Trump coin?
Time for Culloden 2.0?
Then might have a yen for Japan’s currency...
They should issue a Scottish pound, a la Isle of Man, pegged to the British pound.
The Scottish Penny
And make them pay for rebuilding Hadrian’s wall.
I honestly don’t see the point to dividing an island. Or much point to repeated referendums. Election mulligans just seem to be a really horrible idea. Revisit this next generation.
To be franc, I don’t think they would want to peso little for won pound.
If your answer is yes, I just happen to have bridge across the Seine for an exceptional low price available just for You. :-)
A Country that does not control its own currency can not print more money when it needs to.
A nice benefit to have.
So Northern Ireland should become part of the Republic of Ireland, yes?
There’s a lot of countries in the EU that are not using the Euro. The UK obviously was one of them. There’s also Denmark and Sweden, and a bunch of other littler ones.
England is showing strength and backbone...I think the Scots respect that, and won’t be so prone to breaking from England....but when they see a weak England....they don’t want none of that.
It sounds to me like the best currency for Scotland would be Food Stamps and EBT cards.
If they call for another referendum then Britain should also hold a referendum that says whether or not they want to toss Scotland out. If either side wants them gone they should be out. In order to stay both must agree for them to stay. I will bet you they will backtrack that referendum right away under those conditions.
After the Greek fraud of entry into the EU....there’s going to be an accounting where the books are checked out and you need to have some gold somewhere or some currency of value. Scotland has marginally the Pound, but it would be questionable how they’d fit this into the scheme of things.
The strange about this new attempt of the Scots....is that they might get independence....jump quickly to Brussels to apply for entry, and then discover that it take two to four years for the application to be approved, and find that five or six EU members are questioning their financial worthiness. So, they might actually fail to enter the EU. This would be major embarrassment for the EU and Scotland. At that point, they’d become like the Honduras of Europe....with no one interested in planting investment money or bringing a business into the country.
They could join up with Iran and have halal haggis for dinar...
Mark my words, you’ll ruble the day you created such drachma!..
Four is many more than many people face at many times under many circumstances.
How different that sounds than saying
"There are four options."
