Sounds like the plot of a great movie. Not enough detail for me to weigh in. But I can certainly see why this haunts you

From the little you’ve told, there doesn’t seem to be anything to regret.

I let this evil man die (and no, I had no involvement with his demise).
That’s a neat trick. How can you let something happen when you are uninvolved?

You could have prevented the death of a truly evil man but chose not to? What a dilemma. Best discussed with God when the time comes.

As I have always believed:
When you ask God for forgiveness, it is immediately granted...from what you said, you didn’t kill this person, so I don’t see where that’s a problem...

It is my belief that God is less concerned with your actions than your heart. If you did whatever you did (or didn't do) with a pure heart (not evil or unselfish motives), then I believe God will know that and judge you accordingly.
The soul-searching you have to do is to discover whether your motives were truly pure, or just cover for self-interest.

Actually, that is where my thoughts are leading me. It WOULD make a heck of a book (if another decision were made and I embellished).

Just suppress those feelings. Keep pushing them down, until the pressure is enough to make a diamond.

I’ve blended my response to you with the justification I had to give to myself....
There is the possibility that you where made party to this information in order to prevent you getting involved.
If you where intended to do something then you would have been asked to.
As hard as it may be ,remember,HE is in Charge.

You guys are not looking at it. A dilemma is when there is NO right decision. If there is a right decision it is not a dilemma. If you choose A, this bad thing happens. If you choose B that bad thing happens. You MUST choose A or B. (in my case, do something, do nothing)
