I really liked the pies though. So do you think the Northern Conspiracy is alive in the show?

“Greatjon is not dead.
Rickon is setting a trap and making a powerplay.”

I’ll buy that for a dollar.

Something from the previous episode led me to think along similar lines. When Ramsay was talking to Roose about attacking Jon Snow, he was saying “we don’t need all the Northern houses. The Umbers, the Karstarks and the Manderleys have more forces than all the other houses combined.”

Now that seems like Ramsay has already sewn up an alliance with the Umbers, Karstarks and Manderlys, because he isn’t the kind of guy to bring a proposal to Roose unless he has already ironed out the details. Now the Karstarks joining him is believable, the Umbers, well Greatjon wouldn’t but maaaaaybe Smalljon would. However, the Manderlys? They HATE the Boltons, ever more so recently with their feud over the Hornwood lands. There is no way that the Manderlys are aligning with the Boltons unless it is part of some plan to betray them.

Who broke an oath?

I have not seen this particular episode yet; so, I am commenting in a general sense.

I have found in previous episodes that within the episode there will be several examples of the title. Each of the characters shown will have exhibited what the title suggests. So, perhaps, not just one Oathbreaker; but, oathbreaking is the underlying theme.

Excellent comment.

The Manderlys hate the Boltons. Tbe Umbers would hate the Karstarks. I see no chance of a three-way alliance.

BTW — Smalljohn’s unwavering refusal to pledge loyalty to Ramsay was highlighted for a reason. They didn’t have to go there.

Yes, the only way that kind of alliance would work is if they agreed to work together against someone they hated even more.

The only one I can see they might all hate more than each other is the bastard, raper, kingslayer, kinslayer Ramsay :)

Was the northern conspiracy to help fake Sansa and Rickon Stark?

I am pretty sure it is a conspiracy of most of the major northern houses to overthrow the Boltons. I think it is still a fan theory, but there is good evidence in the books to support it.

That’s it, I’m going to start watching game of thrones on HBO streaming. I can’t seem to get away from hearing about this show so I’m going to see what all the hoopla is about. Hope it’s good, lol!

Been a fan since the beginning - they manage to keep it interesting.

Of course, I was also a fan of most of the True Blood episodes for entertainment value and really enjoyed Boardwalk....

Who broke an oath?

“your father was a Cu#% I watched him swear an oath and bend the knee to Rob Stark then he stabbed him in the heart.”

When they die (even if they didn't show this) the words spoken over the body are "His watch has ended."

You have to assume that over that day he was dead, someone mentioned it.

Don’t follow the show and I gave up on the books years ago, but I always suspected Jon Snow wasn’t Ned’s. I think he’s the son of Lyanna and Rhaegar.

As far as Daenerys breaking an oath, how could she break an oath she was not aware of, and never pledged herself to?

Daenerys was aware of the Dothraki tradition, but she decided to ignore it. As far as I know, she never took an oath to abide by it. So she broke with tradition, but not an oath.
