The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published long-awaited rules Thursday that could ban 99 percent of e-cigarette products and wreck industry innovation for years to come.

Passed in 2009, the Tobacco Control Act says all e-cigarette products released after February 15, 2007, (predicate date) will have to go through the Pre-Market Tobacco Applications process (PMTA). FDA officials claim they cannot change the predicate date....

Ya gotta wonder why they hate tobacco so much, but love pot so much that they want it available to children as “medical” marijuana.

Congratulations, stupid nanny FDA-you have just provided the impetus for a brand new black market to strip money from a legitimate industry-again...

E-cigarettes contain no tobacco whatsoever, and only has about as much nicotine as found in a potato.

The e-cigs have worked so well in helping folks dump cigarettes, it is cutting into the tobacco tax coffers. So, they’re looking to ban it.

The gubmint likes to ban things that people like, suc has large sodas, sugar, etc.

The FedGov would sh*t a brick if everyone who uses tobacco products said, "you know I believe you're right and I'll never use tobacco again!" They would rather lose a percentage of people to cancer and keep collecting those outrageous "sin" taxes.

Let's not forget that for all their BS, the Feds benefit greatly in SSI and Medicare benefits they don't have to pay out every time someone (like my father) dies before his time.

ecigs aren’t always just tobacco. Some also vaporize metals in cheap heating coils. and also various random chemicals found in poorly manufactured tobacco juice.

I tried every ecig on the market about 2 years ago and ALL made me breathe worse than smoking regular cigs at the same frequency

The large coil vaporizers when filled with high-end organic juice seem good but are about the size of two cig packs and cost ~$150 each

Link to the cited law:

https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/PLAW-111publ31/pdf/PLAW-111publ31.pdf

“Applicability.-This chapter shall apply to all cigarettes...any other tobacco products that the Secretary by regulation deems to be subject to this chapter.”

Why does congress pass this stuff? I say the word ‘deem’ should be banned from all future laws.

I don’t smoke or vape, but a company asked me to design a “box mod”.

It was a fun project and I made some much needed cash. It’s being sold under the name Surric X Mod.

Just the electronics. Not the wacky graphics.

Do you seriously not understand?

They pass laws like this so they can go home and say, "re-elect me and I will fight for you against (insert Executive Branch agency of your choice)'s unreasonable orders/regulations/fines/mandates".

Maybe I should go to all the vape shops and buy as many vapers as I can afford and sell them in a few months when they will be worth at least twice as much.

Alright, I am calling BS. This is simply an absurd statement, and leaves you completely lacking in credibility. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of ecig devices, each with dozens of variations. In addition, this doesn't even count the liquids, where there are so many liquid makers that it is essentially impossible to even come up with a list of who they are.

You tried each and every one? You tried every battery? Every mech mod? Every variable voltage mod? Every atomizer? Every different threading? Every cartomizer? Every tank? Every RDA? Every RTA? Every liquid? With every PG/VG ratio? With all of the thousands of different flavorings? In all of the different concentrations?. Do you have any concept of how much it would cost, and how long it would take, to try even a small percentage of those, let alone, "all"?

BS. Oh, and your claim that some "vaporize metals in cheap heating coils". Could you point me to the physics of such a thing. What metals are capable of being vaporized at the relatively low temperatures in an ecig atomizer? What is the basis for your contention that "cheap heating coils" use that mysterious, and vaporizable, metal? Especially given that virtually all coils use the same metals, regardless of how "cheap" they are?
