I finally bought a soldering iron. I’m trying some small electrical projects.

I used one in a class decades ago.

Screwdriver? Naw, they that to do upgrades on electronics.

But I’ll bet quite a few have never wielded a wrench.

I bet they can put a condom on a banana.

70% of the girls and 38% of the boiz can deep throat it, too.

Righty tighty might have got in trouble changing a flat tire on some old Chrysler models. The lug nuts on the right side of the car turned the opposite direction from the ones on the left side. It had to do with resisting vibration-loosening.

Saw this in my former job. The kids were great at software development but had no idea of the hardware that it would run on (aircraft, ship, etc.) I think it has gotten better but there were a few proposals and efforts that were real doozies years ago..

My eighth grade shop project was a gear puller. The metal working was great. The metal used was so soft, though, that the first time I ever tried to pull a gear, the grapplers just bent off.

I had to work with a woman last year who at 28 years old and holding an MBA could not fill out a check properly. I’ve never seen someone screw up a single check in four different ways but she managed it - signature on the memo line, amount written in the payable to line, different amount written in the numerical amount box, and payee’s name not on the check at all.

Yes, this was an MBA holder and a check was too complicated for her to figure out.

I’m a righty tight left loosy guy. If you’re lying on your back working on a car in weird positions, its handy.

Both my girls know how to replace brake pads.....

My oldest once called me when she lived in SoCal...to make sure she was doing it right...Of course she was doing it right.

The car was one of the easiest cars to do a brake job on...I'd ever seen. A 2000 Altima....

They both wanted to know how to do stuff...on their cars.

***But, he had never used a soldering iron***

Bet he didn’t know the difference between acid and rosin core solder, or lead free solder.

I think I’ve written 1 check in the 21st century. They’re a post dated idea, the only people still using them are deliberately not joining the modern world.

Wonder if it would mess with his mind if he had to put an oxy-accelyne hose set on a cutting torch.

I’ve been an engineer for 25 years, and we’re not allowed to solder any longer. Techs do it. Besides, they do it daily and are far better at it.

That and there are stricter lead safety rules in place that have come in the past 10 years or so. Engineers don’t want to keep up the safety training.
