Guess I was fortunate to have taken things part and put’em backtogether since birth.Never really had to think about it.
But unlike my bro that didn’t know how to change oil in his car but could land a jet on an aircraft cararier I can’t add or subtract and still use my fingers for some more advanced calculations.
No wonder it's so hard for me to find someone to take up my jeans/overall pant legs. Us old guys are well willing to PAY too. ;^)
The business process is almost the same, until it isn’t. There’s a big difference in that last stage of either setting up the transfer, telling your software to spit out a check, and actually writing one by hand.
Because it’s NOT the same process by hand as on a computer. Because the process involves either running an application or finding forms, that’s different. What we’ve got are people who have post dated skills thinking the problem lies with the folks who have never needed those skills. You’re an expert wagon hitcher decrying the fact that the modern car driving generation has no idea how to hitch a wagon. Paper is dead.
But even then often they’re using software that just collates the data into a check. And really the government and those businesses need to get off their asses and join the 21st century. Checks are dead, your bank hates them, they’re the most labor to process, and the most open to fraud. Time to move on.
Part of the reason my 16 Tacoma was priced lower is that’s it a 6 speed manual.

Oops! :-)
Oh I agree with you. Paper checks are a pain and labor intensive to produce and process. I am a woman of the new millinium. I love on line banking and bill paying. Also, I am probably Amazons best customer. I have had a kindle for years, since the beginning. I still marvel that at 3a.m. I can download a sequel to a novel and continue reading. What an exciting age we live in, technology wise.
