I’ll just parrot those thoughts. I’m convinced Ted asks his staff for talking points by telling them to give him Trump’s bullet points said the week before.
He was raised-up in a profession where facile use of ‘boilerplate’ is not just practiced but encouraged.

Another problem for him is that he’s following a bad practice of citing headnotes, e.g. “Jobs are good.” Lke Obama’s career path, never really having worried about making a motgage payment, he doesn’t really understand why we’re so angry with DC, or he wouldn’t have buckled with them. Ted’s simply a prisoner of his own overweening ambition.

We say things like that and his crestfallen supporters here say things like we’re ‘bad-mouthing’ him or the recent meme, ‘FR’s lke DU now’.
Their holy grail now is wanting to risk losing the contest to the ‘rats. They and their boy can all take a flying .........

>Anyone else who has worked with him hates him? You are CERTAIN of this? I call BS on that statement.

Well to be fair Ted used to have a friend in the senate, named Mike Lee of Utah.

However one day Ted did this to him:

Lee is also Cruz’s best friend—maybe his only friend—in the Senate. In his memoir, Cruz writes that no one stood by him “more courageously or indispensably” than Lee during his 21-hour anti-Obamacare speech that preceded the 2013 government shutdown. The pair have a joint fundraising committee and have posed together with a tiger-skin rug.

When Lee brought up his bill in the committee hearing, he wasn’t sure if he’d have Cruz’s support. But he certainly didn’t anticipate what came next.

Cruz attacked the bill as dangerous and politically poisonous. He said it would lead to more than 7,000 federal prisoners let out on the street. “I for one, at a time when police officers across this country are under assault right now, being vilified right now, when we’re seeing violent crime spiking in our cities across the country, I think it would be a serious mistake for the Senate to pass legislation providing for 7,082 criminals to be released early,” he said. The bill, he claimed, “could result in more violent criminals being let out on the streets, and potentially more lives being lost.”

Cruz went on to warn his fellow senators that if they voted for the bill, they would imperil their careers. “We know to an absolute certainty that an unfortunately high percentage of those offenders will go and commit subsequent crimes,” he said. “And every one of us who votes to release violent criminals from prison prior to the expiration of their sentence can fully expect to be held accountable by our constituents.” Essentially, Cruz was saying that the legislation would let dangerous people out of prison, they would commit more crimes, and the senators would be subject to Willie Horton-style attack ads.

Lee, who was sitting right next to Cruz, could not believe what he was hearing. The bill, he responded, wouldn’t actually release any violent criminals from prison, and its sentence reduction for gun crimes was to reduce the minimum for felons caught with guns or ammunition from 15 years to 10 years—a provision that had once sent a man to prison for 15 years when he picked up a stray bullet in order to clean a carpet. “It is simply incorrect to say that this suddenly releases a bunch of violent criminals. It is tougher on violent offenders,” Lee sputtered. “That statement is inaccurate…. We’re not letting out violent offenders. That is false.”

Lee’s communications director, Conn Carroll, confirmed to me that Lee and his staff had no advance warning that Cruz was planning to brutally attack—and, in Lee’s view, misrepresent—his friend’s bill. “Going into that hearing, we definitely thought it was in the realm of possibility he would come out against it, just not with that kind of colorful language,” Carroll told me. The bill made it out of committee that day, but now it appears to be in trouble, with several other Republican senators taking Cruz’s line against it at a Senate lunch last week.

Today, Lee has conspicuously joined every other sitting senator in declining to endorse Cruz’s presidential run. And while Lee and Cruz are still friends, the episode vividly illustrates Cruz’s talent for irritating other senators.

I think you are moderately unhinged...I believe that sincerely. You sound like Bush looking into Putin’s soul. You can dislike someone, for whatever reasons you want - but when you start making accusations, you need to have more support than your feelings to impress me.

I am very good at reading people, myself, but I don’t run around making categorical statements based on my feelings. I search for evidence to support my feelings before I spout off.

Trump’s position papers are on his website, including his position on health care, which is coverage for pre-existing required of insurance companies, coverage for the indigent/disabled thru Medicare (as it is now), mandating lower prescription drug costs, and cross-state platforms for purchasing insurance.

otoh, Cruz has said he will repeal Zerocare day one, but hasn’t offered much of an explanation as to what he will replace it that differs from Trump’s position, other than increasing the Medicare eligibility age, tossing Medicare to private insurance carriers (good luck with that) and offering govt-subsidized premiums. His plan seems more preferential for young families. And for people who’ve worked hard labor jobs all their lives the last thing they want to hear is they have to work 5 more years to be eligible for Social Security Medicare - as if a 65yo has all the time in the world.

“Anyone else who has worked with him hates him?”

How senators have endorsed him? You trash Trump on his health care position, but don’t even know it..you can’t defend Cruz because you don’t know his position on health care.

Trump is saying that we have to have a way to care for people that are outside the system until they become part of the system. He said he will not allow people to “die in the streets” That’s exactly what he said.

Now what part of that do you disagree with?

Aaaaah - is Mike Lee the only person who has ever worked with him? You said “anyone”, and to support that position you give one poor example. Hyperbole.

Besides - what does this have to do with Trump’s fitness for office?

I voted for Ted Bush for Senate in 2012. I have come to regret it. I am looking forward to voting against Cruz in 2018.

I can’t believe I ever liked Cruz. He’s rabid dog vicious.

You'd be completely 5150 too if you sold your sole to Goldman Sachs to win an election, only to lose it and your credibility to boot!

“I doubt he ever said it”

He said it word for word in the first 2 debates. What amazes me is you know so little about the candidates positions, yet you argue for one and against another.

His ridiculous switch into his condescending tone @ the 5:00 mark is exactly why I don’t like him anymore. The “good sense” of the Hoosier State is so fake. It makes me puke.

Show me where I have bashed Trump, like you say I have. Show me where I am arguing for or against any candidate. You can’t seem to respond without lying. Because I see your love for lying, I doubt everything you say.

Because i am asking why you can’t support Trump without bashing Cruz means, in your mind, that I must be arguing against Trump and for Cruz. I have never argued against Trump.

You do know that Carson endorsed Trump, yes?

He also appears on various shows defending his choice. I know quite a few ex Carson supporters who genuinely like Trump. They are active in persuading their friends to do so as well.

Giles, you are free to feel that way and express it. Evidently my expressing that I believe Cruz to be mentally ill is an 'accusation that must be backed up' and you calling me 'moderately unhinged' is not.

So I will acknowledge your double standard (standard of proof for thee but not for me!) ... but I think that's great that you think I'm unhinged ... moderately of course. I think it's great that I remind you of Bush staring into Putin's eyes. When I am running for president, if you believe that, then I urge you to express those things, because they would be important.

As it is, maybe I'm mentally unhinged and maybe I'm not ... fortunately, the future of the free world doesn't teeter on your being right or wrong. If it did, I'd encourage you to err on the side of trusting your gut ... especially assuming I lied a lot and made deals with people just 2 minutes ago I called a cartel - deals directly against the interest of the people just 3 minutes ago I purported to defend and for whom I promised to fight.

It's wonderful how well manipulative, ambitious disconnected people and naive people fit so well together as a team and go on to accomplish such wonderful damage.

But if you support Cruz ... wake up Giles ... you support his vision for himself. If you're not humble enough to wonder if you've been fooled at this point, then you're just the kind of supporter he's looking for.

I don't say this out of some kind of superiority ... I've been duped by people ... just ... like .... Ted. It's the pain and betrayal that tunes your BS meter so delicately. Often, they're not even totally conscious that other than their own vision, there is a shared vision that is what others believe they are serving ... and so .. they are very very convincing - they're not even aware they are lying in a 'bad way'.
