Trump: Ted Cruz Will Implement Obama’s Trade Agenda If Elected
Stumpin for Trump ^ | 4/2/2016

Posted on 04/02/2016 9:15:54 PM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Billionaire Donald Trump, the 2016 GOP presidential frontrunner, told Breitbart News exclusively that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) “will vote for” Obamatrade “again” after the election—and would implement Obama’s trade agenda if elected president.

“Now, he’s going to vote for it again,” Trump said in a phone interview on Friday. “He’s going to vote for it again. He’s just waiting for after the election. He will vote for it—because the people who give him campaign contributions want it. He will vote for it right after the election.”

The first time that the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation came up in the U.S. Senate, back in the Spring of 2015, Cruz didn’t just vote for it. He championed the legislation’s cause publicly with a series of interviews, wrote a joint op-ed for the pro-Obamatrade Wall Street Journal with the initiative’s biggest congressional champion, now House Speaker

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), and he very publicly challenged the initiative’s biggest conservative critic Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), saying in a radio interview in June 2015 that Sessions’ criticisms were “not accurate.”

Under incredible public pressure over the next few weeks, as the House of Representatives passed a different package of bills that attached Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA)—a subsidy program that provides government benefits to those who lose their jobs because of open trade deals—and as that new package came back to the Senate for a new vote, Cruz shifted his position to oppose TPA.

TPA, or fast-track authority, is a change in the procedures Congress uses to ratify trade deals with foreign nations. TPA lowers the vote threshold for passage of a trade deal out of the U.S. Senate to just a simply majority—51 votes—killing the possibility for a filibuster. It also eliminates the ability for Congress to amend any such trade deals.

Amen, Nita. It is mind-boggling to me how many freepers have no clue how the process works for the selection of delegates, from the precinct convention to the national convention. They are claiming that delegates are being stolen when the truth is that Trump’s team (and Trump as well) were kids playing checkers against adults playing chess, not realizing that they were not even playing the same game.

If you can’t be bothered to go to your own precinct convention, then you can only blame yourself for the results, and not those who actually gave of their time and participated.

It's a shame the economic illiterates here don't understand the consequences of their actions if Cruz becomes president.

Cruz keeps saying he's a conervative, but supports Obama's policies. Ever since his shenannigans in Iowa, I have been saying he lacks good judgement. And now that he's bedded down with the GOP, he lacks ethics too.

I wonder if it's because his alcoholic father left him and his mother when he was a small child. His behavior and lack of friends makes one wonder if he needs therapy.

Just finished watching an old CSI:NY episode of an abused wife who was getting the tar beaten out of her. An off-duty Marina saved her life by taking down her husband, but then she stabbed and killed the Marine because she ‘loved’ him and went to her booking defending herself for that murder.

Reminds me so much of so many of the Cruzers. The establishment batters them again and again and again, abusing them over and over, and occasionally saying that they love them by giving them a faux-conservative present. And now along comes someone who’s willing to defend them, and they attack him because he’s fighting their ‘love.’

Let me see if I have this straight... This article from a pro-Trump website only sources Trump's campaign mouth as the source that Cruz will support TPP.

This coming from a man that has flip flop 5 times in a matter for a few days on abortion.

BS article.

Facts. Cruz intially supported TPA, some men behind closed doors changed TPA and Cruz with Session rightfully voted against it.

Facts: Cruz is against TPP. Has publically said so many times.

What is NOT fact is Trump without any proof saying what your headline does.

What is fact is the person that help write and manipulate the TPA and TPP had large contributions from a certain businessman.... Donald Trump.

The majority of the "true believers" are from Texas. Check their about page. It is ironic they did not run a native born Texan. They ran a "damn yankee." It is odd how they always complain about "damn yankees" ruining Texas. You can't get anymore "northern yankee" than Calgary.

His TPA votes (voted for it twice, once on cloture to get it to the floor, and then he voted for again), the vote that Levin and Limbaugh refuse to mention, along with his Corker bill vote.

Trump should hammer home Teds foundness for Obama.

And how those who originally hated Cruz as too radical to be viable, or to be desirable in the WH now throw their backs into helping him stop Trump --- they don't like Cruz, they fear Trump because he will upset their apple carts. If they manage to stop Trump, Cruz will be easy prey for them and Hillary will be the b=]next President. Like Cruz, they don't care - just so long as they stop trump ... from doing what they all want and smashing through the entrenched GOPe folks like a raging bull in a china shop.

Ironic and pathetic - no?

By the way how does it feel to be an establishment stooge in bed with Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth and the entire globalist GOPe mega donor class against those of us fighting with Trump to preserve the USA?

Cruz wrote an op-ed with Paul Ryan urging Congress to pass the TPP enabling TPA. When it mattered Cruz voted for TPA/TPP. When it did not matter Cruz voted against TPA/TPP. Cruz is a slime ball.
