A hooded man took a woman hostage at a convenience store in Denver, Colorado. Police arrived on the scene, and the criminal attempted to leave the premises with a gun pressed to the woman’s back. After making threats to take the woman’s life, a Police decided to take lethal action. Once a clear shot was available, a sniper dispatched the hostage taker with extreme prejudice. Wow! That was a good shot. In fact, it made me jump up in my chair a bit. I have never been through what that woman dealt with, somebody pressing a loaded gun into my back and using me as their shield. I have no idea how I would react. I can only hope my sense of survival would guide my actions or inaction. I’m sure she was pleading for her life.
Did you see her tip her head back toward the perp just as the sniper took the shot?
If you.or any of us are ever in that situation, might try to keep your head down and to the front, in hopes of keeping it out of the way!

I did see that. I think she was jittery, and compulsively talking, out of her head with fear. She probably kept thinking, if she said the right thing, this kid would surely just let her go.

In 2004 one of my best friend’s brother, a Toronto cop (and also a good friend of mine), took out a hostage taker with a shot to the head at Toronto Union Station. This guy eventually went on to join the Canadian military and at the age of 42 (highest age they allowed at the time) beat every single new recruit in the physical fitness tests my a large margin. Real Badass!

Yikes, you’re right, she did. But the sniper may have hit the punk in the torso/side rather than the head....hard to tell

Hard to tell - but I think it was a shot to the torso. I wonder if they have training on certain muscles to target, etc.
I recall one movie where the guy is explaining how the natural reflex of the body is to clench up when shot - thus firing the weapon the bad guy has pointed at the lady. Unless of course if one can hit the exulunar nerve where it exits the bicep but before it enters the elbow oxipital.” Bang!
