Not possible to win 87% of the remaining delegates., Trump would have to be arrested on Rape charges, or something as odious. Not in this life.
Cruz's position is comparable to a football team being 14 points behind, in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter of the game. Do they have a chance of winning? Sure. Is it even remotely likely? No.
The point is that we need to defeat Hillary Clinton and Trump cannot do it.
He is an extremely divisive person who has splintered Free Republic into enemy camps.

He has an unheard of dislike factor ... the lowest ever of any politician.
Hillary has her built-in lunatic base. Trump would need to get the support of Republicans. Say what you will about Republicans, if they don’t support Trump or don’t vote, Hillary will win.
I have great reservations about Trump, about his character and about his positions and whether he will do what he’s promised.
But I can vote for him if he’s nominated.
Too many people won’t.
That’s my prayer... but only time will tell.
He pretty much stated he's in it to the bitter end in hopes of a contested convention - that is turning a lot of folks like me off after what the Cochran crew did to Mississippi.
I fear he will think he has signed deals with the proper devils and will end up being betrayed by them even if he's successful in forcing a contested convention. He may very well be the factor that hands it all to Hillary if he's not very careful about how he talks and goes about it.
Good points — and it would be a miracle of God to see Trump stopped. The last thing I want is to have to pick between two longtime NY liberals.
