I am a Trump supporter but I would like to know if Cruz's comments about Chicago changed the mind of any of his supporters. Is it A) no difference I still support Cruz B) I am rethinking my support for Cruz C) I am now going to support another candidate or not voting?

Kasich is adding to his comments, saying that Trump created a toxic environment. All three are blaming the victim. I’m glad Trump had sense enough to cancel. You see what happened today; someone rushed the stage.
Maybe we should blame Cruz, since he never disavowed Glenn Beck’s stabbing comments if Beck got a chance to be on stage, next to Trump. He got a pass on Beck’s comments. He also claimed Trump was behind white racist robo-calls. He got a pass on this. We don’t even know if any calls were actually made.
I wish you would reconsider. Cruz is still the better man.
Yes, Cruz should not have said it. He should certainly have blasted the social justice warriors as Trump did.
Cruz was a bit too calculating here. He needs votes. He is not going to draw any Trump voters his way. Trump voters are set in mental concrete, sad to say.
His only political option is to get votes from Rubio and Kasich by mildly casting blame on Trump and trying to appear reasonable.
After all, according to Trump, he makes reasonable lies.
I was staunchly in Cruz corner. Being from Chicago and seeing the fiasco last night and the bloodied cop, I waited for Cruz’ comment. Cruz deeply dissapointed. I felt his comments were strictly self-serving and he missed the big picture. This was organized chaos, brought and paid for by George Soros.
That said, I am not a Trump fan, but will vote for Trump on Tuesday.

Trump has called Cruz a lot of nasty names. I understand no one coming to his defense....but this was to all of our defense not just trumps

Where does the constitution give the Feds the power to tax and use that money for health care in the form of block grants to the states? Maybe I’m being too picky, expecting somebody to tell ppl no, that isn’t the job of the government to be involved in healthcare.

Although I thought the Trump campaign tone did contribute somewhat over time to the mob thug disrupter mentality, Trump handled it very impressively last night.
Cruz needs to remember that he tagged onto Trumps fiery rhetoric early on and claimed solidarity on certain issues.
Cruz tried to take a tasteful jab to his advantage and point out a contrast. I don’t think it was effective.
Cruz would have the same problem, if he had the crowds Trump gets.

Except it did not happen. There is evidence to that effect. The campaign manager was on the other side of Trump from the reporter. A security guy had a similar haircut and build to the campaign manager.
Almost certainly a case of mistaken identity.
Trump should get credit for not bending to a false accusation.

Nope. I do not. I see him saying everything that millions of us have been thinking, and of course, are forbidden from saying. It is becoming a truism, but its a lie. He has not said anything racist, he has simply stated the facts.
Many people don’t like those facts so they say he shouldn’t say them.

The things that shouldn’t be said are all the lies the others have been telling us about the moslems, how its wonderful to have 30 million Mexicans moving in, how strip mining American jobs is great, etc.

Cruz supporter here, and I’m still supporting him.
I would have preferred a stronger defense of the First Amendment from Ted so I am disappointed in the overall balance of his remarks. Mob rule should not be allowed to overcome Freedom of Association and Freedom of Speech, *and* Trump should stop saying, even in jest, that he would like to hit protesters or pay the legal fees of those who do.
To my knowledge no one on these threads has recalled that Trump criticized Pamela Gellar for sponsoring a “Draw Muhammad” contest in Garland TX last May, which was targeted for attack by Islamic terrorists.
Trump and his supporters did not instigate the confrontations in Chicago last night, but Trump has not distinguished himself as a defender of free speech rights. In fact he came pretty close to blaming Pam Gellar for the attack because she was “taunting” people. Does that reminder change the opinion of any Trump supporters?
