The most shocking development of the current election cycle is the abandonment of Scriptural principles by Christian voters for "pragmatic" reasons. The following verses from the Bible are meant as a gentle reminder of God's view:
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; (Psalm 33:12 )
For whom should Christians vote?
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14 )
What character should acceptable candidates display? The following verses shed light:
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. (Proverbs 8:13)
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. (Proverbs 11:28)
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. (Psalm 10:4 )
For the love of money is the root of all evil: (1 Timothy 6:10)
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. (Proverbs 28:20 )
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; (1 Timothy 6:17)
How can character be discerned? Do any of these fruits apply to your candidate?
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Matthew 7:20)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; (2 Peter 1:4-6)
WARNING- if your candidate deceives you with the promises of amazing, awesome constant worldly winning, you should prayerfully examine your faith...true faith can NOT be deceived by such a person!
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
One final admonition; if you are tempted to vote for a candidate that promises fantastic worldly rewards remember -
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)
This Christian proudly voted for Donald Trump here in Ohio. Thank you for your concern.
Bump
Thank you for the posting.
Excellent reminders of truth!
God bless America!
I am a Christian for Trump. Trump 2016!
OK, just remember when they tell you you have to have this Mark on you forehead or right hand, and you can’t buy or sell anything without it, DO NOT TAKE THE MARK! It is the Mark of the Beast, and to take it leads to the Eternal Lake of Fire.
You know this crap gets old and frankly gets others to do the EXACT OPPOSITE?
“Ted is the anointed one”
If he was he’d be winning fair and square.
Ted Cruz cannot win. He has already lost if one uses reasonable mathematics. He said last night that he and Trump were the only 2 remaining with a mathematical path to victory.
That isn’t correct really.
There are 1400 delegates remaining. Cruz has about 300. He needs 900 to win. Tuesday about 400 delegates are up for grabs, and Cruz is in the running for less than 50 of those. That means that he will need 850 of 1100 delegates to win, when Trump is leading in most of the remaining important states.
Mathematically, he will be out of it except for a miracle some Tuesday night.
I’m a Christian for Trump, too.
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
I take it you think people should vote for Ted Bush?
God loves walls
“Christians...Beware For Whom You Vote” For whom you vote? Trying to use the bible by phrasing your propaganda this way....how sad and pathetic!
NEWSFLASH Ted, we are NOT uninformed Christians either. There are also quotes in the Christian Bible referring to false prophets. I believe the false prophets probably lie a lot and try to persuade using an ounce of truth folded into a pound of lies.
So, who isn’t trying to tell you how to vote?
-my assessment of the four- worth every penny I tell ya:
Kasich- a good guy, well versed in the process, read in to the way things are done, a careerist, probably a good ol boy.
Rubio-a boy scout, nice enough and all, but gets obviously irritated at disagreement. Pretty well an insider, but not so much as to be a good ol boy.
Cruz- obviously has more than good ideas ( in the Army, we tend to kill good Idea fairies), but substance and a constitutional understanding of the way it should be-looking to regrow the principles of the founders, has a problem with his citizenship, regardless of what the rulings may say.
Trump- a good idea fairy. Lots of “we will fix this and that uuh huh”, but seemingly over his head. Petty and vulgar. Appeals to the many of us ( including me) that it is about time to overhaul the institutional mindset and fix some things that obviously are broken.
All said and done, I absentee primary voted for.....
You should too! ( Vote, I mean)
Messiah Ted and his prophet Glenn Beck.
Nah, I've got a mark on my right hand, but it's just the remains of a stamp from the concert I went to a couple of nights ago. But if anything shows up on my forehead, I'll get in touch...
The only person remaining who exhibits love for the American people is Trump. First Corinthians 13 tells it all.
Based on all that guess we Christians can’t vote for anyone.
Glad to see there are still some Christians on this site. Amen.
