Oregon Officials Call LaVoy Finicum Death “Disturbing”
Canada Free Press ^ | 03/10/16 | Douglas V. Gibbs

It is clear that the U.S. Government meant to send a message: "Stand against the Obama administration, and you will be executed in cold blood."

New video from the Oregonian, Oregon’s largest newspaper, provides a dual view of the murder of LaVoy Finicum by federal agents and Oregon State Police. At no point did Mr. Finicum, or the passengers in his vehicle, pose a threat to the law enforcement officials who gunned down Finicum, and shot up the vehicle full of innocent and defenseless passengers. In a statement on Tuesday, Oregon Governor Kate Brown said, “Any loss of life is regrettable, and I appreciate that the independent investigation into the actions of Oregon State Police was completed swiftly and thoroughly. . . Additional questions the investigation raised about the actions of federal agents who were also involved are troubling and properly the subject of an ongoing investigation.”

Oregon’s lone Republican in the U.S. Congress, Representative Greg Walden (R-Hood River), issued the following statement regarding the independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of LaVoy Finicum: “This independent investigation gives us some answers to what happened, but leaves me disturbed and bewildered by the role of the FBI agents who are now under federal investigation themselves. Meanwhile, I will continue working with local officials to get results on the Steens Mountain fencing issue, federal reimbursement for the local policing costs, and to stop the monument designation in Malheur County, among other resource-related issues.”

Not any more “disturbing” than burning to death dozens of women and children in their home in Waco, or killing Randy Weaver’s 12 year old son and Weaver’s wife while she was holding their baby in a cabin in Idaho during the Clinton reign of terror.

The FBI can’t subdue drug lords and rabid Latin gangs all over America, but they are hell on wheels when it comes to killing those who object to the loss of freedom in the USA. Killing unarmed civilians is like shooting fish in a barrel and will get you promoted every time.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shooting, recently turning over results to Malheur County District Attorney Dan Norris. He was asked to oversee the investigation by Tim Colahan, Harney County district attorney, to provide an independent assessment. The shooting occurred in Harney County.

Who would you prefer? The FreeRepublic lynch-the-scumbag-police brigade?

It is beyond reason to believe that one law enforcement agency could review the actions of another agency with which they work could provide an unbiased assessment of what happened.

For a good investigation you need an independent agency to investigate.

"nothing more than huddling down and hoping not to die"

If you look at the 6:18 mark in the video, the dude "huddling" down has a gun in his right hand.

These types of shootings are too common to be disturbing.

I’d like to know how the bullet hole in the top of the truck cab got there. It appears from the picture that the bullet was fired directly from above. Even if there was a sniper high up on the hills near the ambush site, I doubt that the hole would look like it does (but it’s hard to tell from the pictures). Was the drone armed and did it fire a shot?

“And did Mr Finicum really “move” in a way that made the FBI think he was going to pull a weapon”

The video shows him first with his hands up and then taking his hands down apparently to try to retrieve something at waist level.

It looked like his left hand was trying to adjust clothing and he was reaching across with his right hand.

Some say that is where his gun was.

Some say that he was reacting to being shot.

I don’t know what his motivation was for taunting and running from the cops and challenging a roadblock at speed but those actions usually don’t end well.

“And if you see the video of the passengers, the Feds were shooting at the people in the vehicle.”

The video showed the car filling with (tear) gas.

rdcbn :" The LEOs on site tried to cover up the fact that they shot up vehicle with random gunshots with no provocation
and are being prosecuted for their coverup."
Delta 21 :" Tased and shot in the back 3 times."

The fact that the vehicles were 'herded' by the Feds
The fact that their vehicles were shot up with 'no provocation', not to mention shot at by Fed.gov/and/or sherrifs deputies
is a clear indication of intended violence .
The fact that Fed / State agents lied and covered up their own negligence , requiring a situational audit by the Investigator General,
clearly indicate that those same officers need to be held accountable to the same charges and penalties that the Feds wish to impose on the 'protesters'.
If lying to a Federal officer is a Felony , so also should the same charges and penalties apply to the Fed/ State officers involved in the 'cover-up'.
Since the FED / State officers initiated an unprovoked attack on the vehicles and the occupants,
LaVoy could justifiably be seen as defending himself and the occupants from "deadly physical force" , even if he was armed.
The FED / State officers provoked the incident , the crime , and the "cover-up" , and need to be similarly held accountable to the charges imposed on the 'protesters' .

“Finicum could just as easily have been grabbing for where he had just been shot.”

The gunshot audio comes after.

No, there was no shot just before he turned toward his gun. No shot was heard between the two that were shot immediately as he exited the vehicle, neither of which hit him, until 12 seconds later when he turned the 2nd time to reach inside his coat.

The people in the vehicle were not in danger as long as they didn’t attempt to fire on the officers, who were (at that point) using non-lethal rounds only. You’ll notice that the vehicle’s occupants never yelled out to the officers and said anything like “we give up. We want to surrender.” The first time that anyone said anything like that was at the 10:45 mark of the synced video, and as soon as they heard that, the cops IMMEDIATELY told them to come out the left side door with their hands up, which they did, one by one. Each one who followed the instructions of the officers was taken into custody without incident.

Honestly I prefer the " FreeRepublic lynch-the-scumbag-FEDERALpolice brigade? "

I have a hell of a lot more respect for LOCAL police and STATE law enforcement over the FEDERAL GOONS, literally GOONS in most cases.

It was more important under HW bush to shoot randy weaver’s wife and kids for the supposed crime of taking a bit too much metal off the end of a shotgun.

It was more important to hold a BBQ of innocent civilians under Clinton regime in Waco over some supposed weapons charges.

It was more important for W to (try) to extradite a convicted and condemned to death illegal alien back to Mexico because the world court told him to do so. (Thank God Texas had a decent solicitor general at the time to stop him).

It was more important for Hussein to send in his BLM goons to Nevada and Oregon....

It is more important for most district attorneys to have a 100% conviction rate vs. a 100% accuracy rate when it comes for their own future political ambitions... Forcing sometimes innocent citizens to plea bargain for reduced sentences when they may very be not guilty of a crime.

[ Disturbing? It was out and out murder. ]

What really perked my ears was the conversation about not getting a signal on their cell phones then BAM FEDERAL roadblock....

Almost as if the FEDS planned to get them into an area where the people inside of the car couldn’t be able to be call for help or contact the media.....

It was almost like they were wanting to prevent them from going to the meeting they were headed to...

Video and social media makes more people aware.

...

Really? The cellphone video records Finicum repeatedly telling the LEO’s that they would have to shoot him, yet very few on FR seem to be aware of it.

But the shots that killed Lavoy Finicum were fired by Oregon police, not federal agents.

I looked for awhile yesterday and couldn’t find anything definitive. There are numerous articles a couple of weeks before his death that report Finicum saying he’d rather die than go to jail. He was responding to reports that there was a warrant for his arrest.
