That person you were talking to is so delusional. Obama's actions (including executive decrees) have fired more people and closed more businesses than anyone in American history. (We have more people now than in Roosevelt's time in the 1930s, another democrat by the way.)
This election (choosing, choice) is all about the heart and soul of America. It is a good soul or a bad soul? In what direction does she desire to incline her heart? Toward the right, or toward the left? Freedom or slavery?
All the candidates and their failings are a mirror, so the "right" leader still won't be whole and complete. Nonetheless,

When 0bama's achievements are totted up by a properly skeptical history, one thing will stand out: he was hell on the middle class and pure death on the black middle class, for whom there appear to be very few defenders and little sympathy at all. I don’t mean to start an argument...really, I don’t...but what does the “American Dream” mean to you?
To me, it means being able to own my own home with some land.
It means not having to worry about paying the bills because I have a job that allows me to make enough money to pay them all.
It means having the ability to take vacations and travel anywhere we want to-because we can afford to and because we are free to go anywhere we want.
It means being able to express an opinion and not have to go to jail because of it.
That’s just some of it...at least, how I view it.
And this is why Bernie has a very good chance of being the next President. A large part pf the population can no longer identify with working hard and playing by the rules as a way of improving their lot.
The crony capitalists have poisoned the well.
The author of this article describes "the American Dream" in purely financial terms. That, I believe, is a critical error ... because it conveniently masks the fact that the American middle class has always been a construct that was fabricated and supported by the massive growth of the Federal government over the last 150+ years.
The "middle class" probably wouldn't exist today if this were truly a free country.
You ever watch Mark Dice on Youtube? He goes out on the street and interviews random young adults off the street, and it’s not set up, it’s not pick and choose. He’s only out there a hour, you can tell by the position of the sun in the sky. It absolutely mind boggling the amount of leftist indoctrinated fools out there who agree with everything from communism, socialism even bringing Sharia law to the US. This is a result of our universities and public schools that started being taken over by the 1960s radicals in the 1970s when the WW2/Korean war era professors and teachers started retiring and were replaced by the Bill Ayers types, it’s been a never ending destructive cycle. Those kids who were indoctrinated became teachers and they teach new kids and so on until today, you have ten of millions of these idiots if not hundreds of millions. The cost of technology is killing the middle class. We keep having to add new things to our budget that simply didn’t exist 30 years ago for new technology. Phone bills (now cellular) are 4 times what they use to be. Internet access. Cable bill. Cars are like fighter aircraft in complexity and a nightmare to maintain the list goes on and on. And now we all pay our own medical insurance which is a very high dollar catastrophic plan..
