I personally stood 3 feet away from Ted Cruz while he patiently responded to every single question a young tzitzit- and yarmulke-wearing Jewish guy asked him about Abortion.
Ted walked him through every legislative battle, who voted for what, how he (Cruz) was able to shape the debate, points won, points lost, and upcoming opportunities. It took 5 minutes. Cruz did this in a room of 60 supporters who all had to wait while Ted took this kid as seriously as anyone he ever met.
My first memory of hearing the word chutzpah was Lucille Ball saying it (on I Love Lucy or the later Lucy Show, I don’t recall which). The context and way it was used gave me an almost instant understanding of the meaning.
I suppose if that’s an insult to Jews, then “He’s got a noive” is an insult to white lower middle class NYC dwellers of that era...
I sent the Post a letter about Milbank’s column, which I found utterly reprehensible. I will hold off commenting further to see if they publish it. If not, I will post the text here.
No. For real. When Cruz said it a lot of people had no clue what it meant, however, the CIA was finally able to break the code and relayed the information to Milbank to alert the public before America was put at risk.
