9th Circuit Court Would Likely Keep Cruz Off Ballot
London Telegraph ^ | February 5th, 2016 | reasonmclucus

Those who think Sen. Ted Cruz can be elected to a job he isn’t eligible for are ignoring the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. If Republicans make the mistake of nominating Cruz for President of the United States, Democrats in California and other states will challenge his eligibility. There’s at least a 90% probability the 9th Circuit Court in San Francisco would rule him ineligible because he is a naturalized citizen rather than a “natural born citizen” as required by the Constitution.

Ted Cruz is the best thing Hillary has going for her. He draws support from eligible conservatives who don't have citizenship problems so they won't be able to win the nomination. Anyone who thinks the 9th circuit court would pass up a chance to hurt the Republicans who oppose the court's rulings is living in a fantasy world.

The Supreme Court would take the case on an expedited basis, and would very probably reverse.

Yup, the SC would slap them down within 24 hours.

Yes, there is nothing to worry about, the Supreme Court always rules in favor of Conservative Republicans.

One is NATURALLY a US citizen when one cannot possibly be anything else.
Born here of citizen parents.
Natural born citizen.

Dems would be salivating getting Cruz in court and standing won’t be much of a challenge especially for liberal judges. BTW, Obama appointed 260 plus judges to the federal bench.

Notice, it would be the most leftist court that would do this and the court that is reversed the most.
Should give the Trump cultists pause that this leftist court would agree with them, but it won’t.

Facts and issues that don’t benefit the Donald are ignored.

Having one of her best friends and donors running for the Republican nomination... supported by idiot sycophants everywhere is the best thing Hillary has going for her.

How anyone can support a pro-gay marriage, pro-socialized medicine liberal... who might build a wall unless he rises above principle while coming to this site and proclaiming to be conservative is beyond me.

I don’t know how likely that is, but if anyone
were to try shutting down the GOP, it would be ninth circuit.

Btw, the leftists don’t control the Supreme Court.

That will change if Trump starts appointing Larry Tribe types he loves so much. Once a leftist, always a leftist.

The supreme court would be more likely to rule that he is ineligible and, in expressing that opinion, would likely set a precedent that would make Marco Rubio (or any other anchor baby) eligible. The last place we want this is in front of the SCOTUS.

I’m quite educated on the natural born citizenship issue. Cruz has a very weak case.

Yup, the SC would slap them down within 24 hours.

24 hours? The judges would slap on their Attends and run straight down to Supreme Court headquarters and come to Ted's assistance immediately. This whole thing could be cleared up in an hour. Everyone knows the Supreme Court and Ted Cruz are like incredible buds.

I trust the five Supreme Court justices to follow the Constitution and Trump’s poll numbers.

he is not a NBC. That’s an inconvenient fact that the Cruz cultists seem intent upon ignoring. I think your armor of God helmets are strapped on a little too tightly frankly.
