That is so sad, the poor dog wondering WTH has happened. Lonely as can be
But seconds after I started reading this thread I knew she’d get lots of offers ASAP to adopt

Not me, my dog is with me for life, no matter what. I would find a way and no, she is not just a dog, she is family.

We brought our cat with us when we moved back from Japan, for peteâs sake.We had to leave our dog in Thailand when I was transferred back to the USA. Couldn't bring her back on the airplane, and she'd have had to be quarantined anyway. We left her with our landlady, who cared for her for several years until she (the dog) died naturally. Really hated to leave her because she was a good dog and was attached to us, but we had no choice.

In a perfect world, the dog wouldn't have saved their sorry @sses. In a perfect world, some canine-lovin’, fire-startin’ pyromaniac would seek them out for their abhorrent behavior. Guess we don't live in one perfect world.

Good for you!
Some people think a pet is a thing to be disposed of at the first inconvenience.
