GLEN ROSE, TX (WCMH)- Last August, Snickers the dog saved her family by waking them up when the RV they were sleeping in caught fire. Now she needs someone to save her.
According to CBS DFW, Snickers, a 1-year-old shar pei mix was credited with saving her family that night, but that same family recently moved and couldnât take her with them. She was placed in the Glen Rose Animal Shelter in Texas.

Just wrong. :-(
If you are interested in adopting Snickers, call the Glen Rose Animal Shelter at (254) 897-3113
Agreed!
Long way to drive for me...bet there will be others to take it in.
If not.....
Such a lack of affection, let alone gratitude, for a simple creature whose whole world revolved around them. A place that allowed a dog would not have been all that difficult to find, had they wanted to do so.
I can’t imagine having to live with myself after putting any of my dogs in a shelter. We just rescued a 6 year old Jack Russel Terrier from a hardware store last summer so we have three dogs now or else I would consider rescuing this one.
Per an unsourced report, Snickers has been adopted.
Good news from another website: Snickers already adopted.

Tell us if the dog gets adopted.
Good news!
Are there no rescue groups in Texas the dog could have been placed with instead of a shelter? Silly me, I found Shar- pei specific rescue groups in Texas with just a simple Google search.
Poor dog saved a family of lazy bums. It’s not hard to find a new home for a dog like her. A classified ad for one day would do it.
That’s the charm of a good dog, they just don’t care who or what you are, they love you anyway.
When I lost my home, I checked out several “over 55” communities.
All of them rejected me because of 50 lb Lynn-Dah-The-Lab.
I told them they could take their BINGO, their Line-dancing, their shuffle board, and their “community” and , well..you know.
Lynn-Dah and I finally found a place so we were not homeless, but it was close.
I just had to go through the whole thing AGAIN, less than 5 years later.
This time, I am going to a mobile home park for ALL ages and dog sizes.
And they don’t mind my Harley either.
Yep to your dog, you’re the most beautiful thing ever.
I aspire to actually be as great as my dogs think I am.
You have no idea this family’s situation or what they had to do and what they may have had to go through to give that dog up. IT’S A DOG. I have three of them, and I love them, but I understand their place.
A pig like that you don’t eat all at once.
I know they took her to the county pound where she’d be put down if not adopted. I know I don’t see any comments from them about how sad they were to have to part with the dog that saved them from a fire, burning herself due to jumping through the flames several times trying to wake them and get them out.
What do you know?
