The National Archives, for the first time ever, released a list of documents related to the assassination that are still shielded from public view.
More than five decades after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, thousands of government files detailing the activities and testimony of shadowy spies, long-deceased witnesses and others with possible knowledge of the events remain shielded from public view.
The government gave a first-ever peek at what's still out there Thursday, as the National Archives released a list of the 3,063 documents that have been "fully withheld" since JFK's murder in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
The documents listed - released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from POLITICO, other news organizations and researchers - were collected by the Assassination Records Review Board, an independent panel created by the 1992 JFK Records Act.

It is known that there were several other conspiracies to assassinate Kennedy in other cities prior to Dallas.

Yep. (See post#61). Neither planned attempt are spoken of much. Both were broken up. Dallas was back-up plan number 3.
My guess is the same outfit looking to assassinate Kennedy were involved in all 3 plans. (The Tampa plan was a back-up for the failed Chicago plan and Dallas was back-up for the failed Tampa plan. Just who they were...I have no 100% firm idea.
I have always thought LBJ had a lot to do with it...
Oh, BS. Bush was a congressman from Houston in 1967 when I moved there. His time with the CIA began in the 70s.

Agreed. Dallas was one of three assassination venues. JFK’s trip to Tampa was called off after xxxx Milteer was wire tapped talking about the President being shot from a tall building and there being a patsy to take the blame.,
I think the one on Chicago was in place in case Dallas didn’t work out. I don’t think Oswald fired a shot that day. I think he was what he claimed to be.....a patsy.
I was in first grade in Denton, TX, 40 miles north of Dallas. Oswald’s niece was in my class. She never came back after that day...
I was sick that day and off from school. Maybe the two of us were involved in the conspiracy. Rode our bikes to Dallas. I was only a few hundred miles from there so it would have taken less than a week to get there. :-)
According to what I have read Chicago was to be the first go at Kennedy, Tampa number 2, and then Dallas number 3. (I have not read or seen anything mentioning a plan set in place to follow the Dallas attempt, if it failed also, but who knows?)
