EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - Meet Quasimodo, one of only 13 dogs in the world diagnosed with short spine syndrome. This 4-year-old German shepherd was found as a stray and brought to a shelter in Kentucky. But this week, "Quasi" made his way to Secondhand Hounds in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where he will hopefully find his forever home.
After years of neglect, Quasi had a collar embedded in his nearly non-existent neck. Volunteers named him after the hunchback Disney character just before he arrived in Minnesota Thursday night. He's been stealing hearts ever since.

I’ve seen that poor feller. He resembles a Skipperke(sp?) a Dutch barge dog.
I’m glad there are kind-hearted people who can take these dogs. German shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia, too.
I would adopt Quasimodo right now if I was anywhere even close to Minnesota.
He’s just beautiful.
That’s really nice.
My wife volunteers at a clinic where she cleans the cages of cats and dogs, vacuums, changes the papers, feeds them etc on the weekend.
and then plays with them :)
I say that she is a very fortunate woman, and her animals are very fortunate to have her.
That is a job that I would find rewarding. I love animals.
Except for the cat.
The cat is evil.
I’m just kidding, I love the cat too.
Mostly.
Sometimes it is an imperfection that makes perfection.
I’d take him and hug him and love him and spoil him all day every day for the rest of his days.
“German shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia, too.”
Most large dog breeds are susceptible to hip dysplasia. The good news is hip dysplasia is going down in German shepherds. If you look at the 80 plus German shepherds our rescue has now, only a few have it.

Hopefully Quasi will be adopted out to a nice family and have a happy life.
I saw this puppy on the news several weeks ago. I would adopt him in a heartbeat. Not only is he cute/cool looking, but I have a soft spot for the supposedly unadoptable.
I guess it’s a terrible time of year for it, but chrisinoc- do y’all have any kind of a ‘’railroad’’ situation for transport?
And what about Pilots for Paws?
chris37, maybe you could sponsor Quasi until the weather is good enough to get him to you.
just brainstormin. . .
He’s a really handsome guy! Gorgeous markings.
i didn’t think about cats one way or the other until i got sick and while in the hospital my mother and wife got me one for recovery company.
He’s my best little buddy now :)
more like a dog lol
I almost wish I could have one but I can't.
I would have to think that someone closer to him would be ideal to adopt him, but if I see that he is still up for adoption after a while, I might ask my brother to go get him.
He’s in Denver, so that puts him a good bit closer. No way this dog remains unadopted. What an amazing fellow!
Cats are such an unusual animal.
So murderous, yet so affectionate.
As a man I am supposed to hate cats. Cats are for chicks, you know.
So ah, yeah, I only pet the cat when no one is looking.
True & there’s thought.
He is a beauty.
lol.
I used to box in my late teens and early 20s. Had a number of fistfights with the crazy Italian Americans here (Staten Ialand), which is why i took up boxing.
Broke a rib, cheek bone and nose.
And I wrap the little guy (Spaghetti) in my arms and he purrs like crazy :)
My friend Rob was one of the toughest kids and cops I ever knew.
I went over his house one time and he was wearing flufy light blue slippers lol!!!
Al Capone was a sociopath who cried like a baby at operas.
It takes all kinds!
